<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1990-86442023000500101&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1990-86442023000500101&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1990-86442023000500101&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Las universidades en la actualidad se encuentran evolucionando sus contenidos académicos desde las etapas más básicas con pasos agigantados, resultado de esto es que en las escuelas de posgrado de ortodoncia se proponen una serie de tendencias internacionales acerca de la aceleración del movimiento dental mediante transmisión láser, debido a que, reducir el tiempo del tratamiento de ortodoncia ha sido un reto para el especialista, dado que los tratamientos prolongados aumentan el riesgo de reabsorción radicular, gingivitis y caries, así como también el abandono por parte de los pacientes. El objetivo del presente estudio consiste en analizar la capacidad de la transmisión de energía láser a través del hueso y la encía para acelerar el movimiento ortodóntico, para lo cual, se empleó la metodología PRISMA para la identificación de la información válida para este estudio desde mayo del año 2017 hasta mayo del año 2022 sin límite de idioma. Fue posible concluir que la transmisión de energía láser a través del hueso y encía acelera el movimiento dental en ortodoncia, contribuyendo con alternativas terapéuticas a los especialistas e investigadores en la odontología moderna, así como nuevas temáticas de investigación futuras con beneficio clínico/académico de las universidades alrededor del mundo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Universities are currently evolving their academic content from the most basic stages with giant steps, and as a result, a series of international trends are being proposed in orthodontic graduate schools on the acceleration of dental movement by means of laser transmission, since reducing orthodontic treatment time has been a challenge for the specialist, given that prolonged treatments increase the risk of root resorption, gingivitis and caries, as well as patient abandonment. The objective of the present study is to analyze the capacity of laser energy transmission through the bone and gingiva to accelerate orthodontic movement, for which the PRISMA methodology was used to identify valid information for this study from May 2017 to May 2022 with no language limit. It was possible to conclude that the transmission of laser energy through the bone and gingiva accelerates dental movement in orthodontics, contributing with therapeutic alternatives to specialists and researchers in modern dentistry, as well as new future research topics with clinical/academic benefit for universities around the world.]]></p></abstract>
