<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0253-57852019000100031&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0253-57852019000100031&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0253-57852019000100031&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Se realizó un estudio en el Estado de San Luis Potosí, México, con el objetivo de evaluar la efectividad biológica del insecticida Singular 350 SC (Imidacloprid) para el control del pulgón amarillo (Melanaphis sacchari Zehntner) en el cultivo de sorgo (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) variedad Nikel. Se implementó un diseño de bloques completos al azar, con cinco tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones; se evaluaron tres dosis de Singular 350 SC, un control regional a base de Confidor 350 SC y un control absoluto, sin insecticidas. Se realizaron dos aplicaciones con una aspersora de mochila motorizada acoplada con dos boquillas de cono lleno, calibrada para aplicar un volumen total de 391 L ha-1. Se evaluaron, en cuatro momentos, el número de colonias, la infestación de pulgón amarillo y el porcentaje de eficacia de los productos, el cual se calculó con la fórmula de Abbott. Las tres dosis de Singular 350 SC presentaron buenas eficacias de control del número de colonias vivas e infestación del pulgón amarillo, superiores al 85 % desde la primera y segunda fecha de evaluación respectivamente. Sobresalieron los tratamientos de Singular 350 SC a dosis de 250 y 300 mL ha-1, con porcentajes de eficacias superiores al 85 % desde la primera evaluación.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT A study was conducted in the State of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to evaluate the biological effectiveness of the insecticide Singular 350 SC (Imidacloprid) for control of sugarcane aphid (Melanaphis sacchari Zehntner) in the sorghum crop (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) Variety: Nikel. A randomized complete block design was implemented, with five treatments and four repetitions; evaluating three doses of Singular 350 SC, a regional control consist in 300 mL ha-1 of Confidor 350 SC and an absolute witness, without insecticides. Two applications were made with a motorized sprayer backpack coupled with two full cone nozzles, being calibrated to apply a total volume of 391 L ha-1. The number of colonies, the yellow aphid infestation and the Abbott efficacy were evaluated at four times. The three doses of Singular 350 SC showed good efficiencies in the control of the number of live colonies and infestation of yellow aphid in sorghum, being greater than 85 % from the first and second evaluation date respectively. The treatments of Singular 350 SC at doses of 250 and 300 mL ha-1 were outstanding, with efficiency percentages higher than 85% from the first evaluation.]]></p></abstract>
