Estos identifican lo que constituye para ellos un profesor «ideal» y cuáles serían las apuestas o retos más importantes a tener en cuenta por el cuerpo profesoral. El estudio se realizó teniendo en cuenta las grandes variables de la valoración docente: cumplimiento, compromiso, dominio, metodología, evaluación y relaciones interpersonales. A nivel de diseño, se realizaron agrupaciones, durante los tres últimos años, de asignaturas relacionadas con el componente disciplinar de ingeniería y con los resultados del cuestionario de opinión docente. Se empleó una regresión logística binaria, donde se identificó en la dicotomía de cada variable aquellos profesores que se encuentran en el estándar de calidad definido a través de la política institucional.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This paper deals with how student engineers at a Colombian private university assess their professors. They described their ideas of a &#8220;perfect&#8221; professor, and identified major challenges to be faced by the academic personnel. The study was conducted by taking into account major variables of assessing professors: performance, commitment, mastery, methodology, evaluation, and interpersonal relationships. For its design, engineering subjects were grouped over the last three years, and a survey was made by the use of a questionnaire. Binary logistic regression was used to predict whether or not professors were of the standard set up and established by the institution.]]></p></abstract>
