Materiales y Métodos Se aplicó un diseño completamente al azar, con cuatro tratamientos y tres repeticiones, con la utilización de enzimas fibrolíticas exógenas (xilanasa). Los tratamientos fueron: T0-Cáscara de plátano sin enzimas (Testigo), T1-Cáscara de plátano + 2 000 UI de enzima/kg MS, T2-Cáscara de plátano + 4 000 UI de enzima/kg de MS y T3-Cáscara de plátano + 8 000 UI de enzima/kg de MS. Para el desarrollo del experimento, se prepararon 24 botellas y se utilizaron seis botellas por tratamiento. Se caracterizó la composición química del alimento. Se determinó además, la digestibilidad aparente in vitro de la materia seca, que se midió a las 24 y 48 h de incubación. Simultáneamente, se registró la producción de gas a diferentes tiempos 3, 6, 12, 24 y 48 h.  Resultados  La digestibilidad ruminal in vitro, a las 24 y 48 h, con la utilización de xilanasa presentó diferencias altamente significativas entre tratamientos (p &lt; 0,05). El mayor porcentaje de digestibilidad in vitro a las 24 h fue en el T2 (42,8 %), el cual se incrementó hasta las 48 h (58,2 %). En la producción de gas in vitro, durante las tres primeras horas, no se registraron diferencias significativas entre tratamientos, mientras que a las 6, 12, 24 y 48 h, sí hubo diferencias estadísticas entre ellos (p &lt; 0,01). La máxima producción de gas se alcanzó a las 48 h, en el tratamiento T2, con valor medio de 284,29 mL/g de MS. El más bajo correspondió al T3 (229,7 mL/g de MS).  Conclusiones La digestibilidad in vitro de la cáscara de M. paradisiaca se incrementó con la utilización de la enzima fibrolítica. A su vez, los mejores resultados se obtuvieron cuando se utilizaron 4 000 UI de enzima/kg de MS.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective To evaluate the in vitro digestibility of the Musa paradisiaca L., pretreated with exogenous xylanase enzyme for feeding ruminants.  Materials and Methods  A complete randomized design was applied, with for treatments and three repetitions, using exogenous fibrolytic enzymes (xylanase). The treatments were: T0-Banana peel without enzymes (Control), T1-Banana peel + 2 000 IU of enzyme/kg DM, T2-Banana peel + 4 000 IU of enzyme/kg DM and T3-Banana peel + 8 000 IU of enzyme/kg DM. For conducting the experiment, 24 bottles were prepared and six bottles per treatment were used. The chemical composition of the feedstuff was characterized. In addition, the in vitro dry matter apparent digestibility was determined, which was measured at 24 and 48 h of incubation. Simultaneously, the gas production was recorded at different times: 3, 6, 12, 24 and 48 h.  Results The in vitro ruminal digestibility, at 24 and 48 h, with the utilization of xylanase, showed highly significant differences among treatments (p &lt; 0,05). The highest in vitro digestibility percentage at 24 h was in T2 (42,8 %), which increased until 48 h (58,2 %). In the in vitro gas production, during the first three hours, no significant differences were recorded among treatments; while at 6, 12, 24 and 48 h, there were differences among them (p &lt; 0,01).
