Con los objetivos de estudiar el tipo de relaciones que puede establecer con Beauveria bassiana , organismo de amplio uso a escala internacional para el manejo de la broca en condiciones de producción y el insecticida Endosulfan , se ejecutó este trabajo. H. bacteriophora cepa HC1 mostró efecto aditivo y sinérgico con B. bassiana , alcanzándose una mortalidad de 62% en el tratamiento donde se emplearon ambos biorreguladores. En el ensayo de viabilidad en placas Petri , donde se utilizó juveniles infestivos de nematodos (cepa HC1) y endosulfan (Thiodan ), se puso de manifiesto que entre el 97 y 98% de los juveniles infestivos de H. bacteriophora HC1 son capaces de sobrevivir al menos 36 h en solución del plaguicida, valores estadísticamente similares a los obtenidos en agua destilada. Tampoco se afectó la patogenicidad del nematodo, quien causó el 100% de mortalidad en las larvas de Corcyra cephalonica y adultos de Ips sp ., independientemente del tiempo de exposición al producto químico. Los ensayos realizados en este trabajo confirman la posibilidad del empleo conjunto de H. bacteriophora cepa HC1 y Endosulfan en aplicaciones simultáneas, así como del uso simultáneo de la cepa HC1 y B. bassiana , elemento de gran importancia para establecer el manejo de la plaga en los agroecosistemas cafeteros, pues en caso de producirse muy altas densidades del insecto podrán ser utilizados conjuntamente.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The strain HC1 belonging to Heterorhabditis bacteriophora has shown to be an effective biological control agent for important pests in Cuba, showing also potentialities for coffee berry borer (CBB) management. The objective of this work was to study the relationship between this organism and Beauveria bassiana , fungi with high use at international scale for CBB under field conditions and with the Thiodan , pesticide for this purpose. The strain HC1 of H. bacteriophora showed a synergic and additive effect, with a 62% mortality in the treatment with two biocontrol organisms. In the Petri dish viability assay, using infective juveniles of nematodes (HC1) and Endosulfan (Thiodan ), the 97-98% of juveniles survived during almost 36h in pesticide solution, with similar values to distilled water. The pesticide neither affected the nematode pathogenicity , which caused a 100% mortality in Corcyra cephalonica larvae and Ips sp. adults, independently the exposition time to the pesticide. The assays carried out in this work confirm the possibility to use H. bacteriophora HC1 and Thiodan in simultaneous applications, as well as the use of HC1 - B. bassiana, element of great importance for the management of this pest in coffee agroecosystems , since in the case of having high insect densities, they can be applied together.]]></p></abstract>
