Objetivo:  evaluar la efectividad de la puntuación de Lintula en la atención primaria de salud.  Métodos:  se realizó un estudio cuantitativo transversal de evaluación de prueba diagnóstica, con enmascaramiento doble ciego en un universo de 36 pacientes, hasta quince años de edad con diagnóstico clínico de apendicitis aguda, perteneciente al Policlínico Universitario Bartolomé Masó Márquez de la provincia Granma. A todos los pacientes con sospecha diagnóstica de apendicitis aguda se les aplicó la puntuación de Lintula antes de su remisión y evaluación por el cirujano pediatra. Se determinó la capacidad diagnóstica de la puntuación.  Resultados:  la edad media fue 11,27 años predominando el sexo masculino. El 100 % de los pacientes tuvieron un diagnóstico clínico, operatorio e histopatológico en el nivel secundario de salud, de apendicitis aguda. El puntaje de Lintula tuvo una sensibilidad de 96,77 %, una especificidad de 25 %, un valor predictivo positivo de 90,91 % y un valor predictivo negativo de 66,67 %.  Conclusiones: la puntuación de Lintula resultó en patrones de sensibilidad y especificidad que la hacen recomendable para la práctica clínica en la atención primaria de salud.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Background:  the acute appendicitis is the main cause of children&#8217;s urgency abdominal surgery.  Objective:  to evaluate the effectiveness of the Lintula score in the primary care.  Methods:  a quantitative, traverse study of evaluation of diagnostic test, with blind double mask, in an universe of 36 patients, of up to fifteen years of age, with clinical diagnostic of acute appendicitis, Bartolomé Masó Marquéz University Policlinic, in Granma. To all patients with acute appendicitis diagnostic suspicion was applied Lintula score before their remission and evaluation for the pediatric surgeon being determined the diagnostic capacity of the score.  Results:  the half age was 11.27 years prevailing the masculine sex. The 100 % of the patients had a clinical, operative and histopatological diagnosis, in the secondary level of health, of acute appendicitis respectively. The Lintula score had a sensibility of 96.77 %, a specificity of 25 %, a predictive positive value of 90.91 % and a predictive negative value of 66.67 %.  Conclusions:  the Lintula score presented patterns of sensibility and specificity that it advisable for its use in the primary care.]]></p></abstract>
