</abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en">
ABSTRACT This work present the behavior of the model in the state space of the buck converter under the boundary condition between the continuous and discontinuous conduction. The mathematical model of the converter is applies to only the continuous conduction mode, and his dynamic behavior is characterized when it approaches the threshold point between the conduction modes. It is possible to understand the effects produced by the proximity to the threshold point on the response of the buck converter, how the transient and stable response behaves, which allows knowing if the behavior of the model is partially or full usable. The novelty of this work is the abilities to determine if transient and stable response are valid, or only the stable operation is valid the process of the simulation.
</abstract>
