Se evaluaron tres cargas pirometalúrgicas compuestas por: catalizador agotado, cascarilla de laminación y virutas de aluminio. El procesamiento permitió obtener ferroaleaciones con 1,5 % de V y 28,66 % de Si, incrementándose los rendimientos desde 66 % hasta 88 % en la medida en que se aumentó la cantidad de carga procesada. La aleación se caracteriza por su alta fragilidad, lo que facilita su uso en el desarrollo de cargas de aleación de consumibles de soldadura. El rendimiento de escoria se mantuvo alrededor del 100 % con relación al potencial teórico, quedando todas las escorias ubicadas en la región fásica del corindón del diagrama de estado Al2O3-Fe2O3-SiO2 con temperatura de fusión por encima de 1860 ºC, factibles de usar en el desarrollo de materiales abrasivos y refractarios.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The work studies the recovery of vanadium and other chemical elements, contained in exhausted catalysts from the Patricio Lumumba Factory in Pinar del Río. Three pyrometallurgical charges composed of spent catalyst, mill scale and aluminum chips, were evaluated. With such processing was possible to obtain 1,5 % V - 28,66 % Si ferroalloys, thus increasing the yields from 66 % to 88 % as the amount of processed load was increased. The alloy obtained has high brittleness, which facilitates its use in the development alloyed load for welding consumables. The yield slag remained close to 100%, relative to the theoretical potential, being all slags located in the corundum phase region of the Al2O3-Fe2O3-SiO2 state diagram with melting temperature above 1860 °C, which makes them feasible to use in the development of abrasive and refractory materials.]]></p></abstract>
