In this sense, agricultural machinery has been the object of application of existing technological development in areas such as positioning systems, integrated circuits, onboard computers, among others. For this reason, this type of machinery has now become one of the most important sources of information for the management of agricultural practices; the visualization, analysis, and storage of the high volume of information generated require the use of computational tools. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are the most widespread platforms for the management of data exported by Advanced Farming System (AFS) agricultural machinery. The present work shows some of the potentialities of the use of AFS systems in Case IH A8000 sugarcane harvesters of &#8220;Héctor Rodríguez&#8221; Sugar Mill in Villa Clara Province. To this end, the SMS Advanced software is used to create maps and reports of the operations carried out by the sugar cane harvesters during their agricultural activities and a brief analysis of them is made. Finally, the feasibility of publishing the harvest data in the company's Spatial Data Infrastructure (AZCUBA&#8217;s SDI) is shown.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Incrementar los rendimientos productivos de las áreas cultivables constituye una de las principales tareas de los investigadores del ramo. En este sentido, las maquinarias agrícolas han sido objeto de aplicación del desarrollo tecnológico existente en áreas como los sistemas de posicionamiento, los circuitos integrados, los computadores de abordo, entre otros. Por esta razón, las maquinarias de este tipo se han convertido actualmente en una de las más importantes fuentes de información para la gestión de prácticas agrícolas; la visualización, análisis y almacenamiento del elevado volumen de información generado requiere el uso de herramientas computacionales. Los Sistemas de Información Geográficas (SIG) constituyen las plataformas más difundidas para la gestión de los datos exportados por las maquinarias agrícolas con Sistema Avanzado de Cultivo (AFS, por sus siglas en inglés). El presente trabajo, exhibe algunas de las potencialidades del empleo de los sistemas AFS en cosechadoras cañeras Case IH A8000 del Central Azucarero Héctor Rodríguez de la provincia de Villa Clara. Con ese fin, se emplea el software SMS Advanced para la creación de los mapas e informes de las operaciones realizadas por las combinadas cañeras durante sus actividades agrícolas, se realiza un breve análisis de los mismo, por último, se muestra la factibilidad de publicar los datos de cosecha en la Infraestructura de Datos Espaciales de la empresa (IDE de AZCUBA).]]></p></abstract>
