<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2079-34802020000100001&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2079-34802020000100001&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2079-34802020000100001&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In order to study the performance of fertility and prolificacy traits at birth (total born and live born), a total of 14 659 records of mating and 8 296 kindlings of the current rabbit populations of California, Chinchilla and New Zealand breeds were used between 2014 and 2017, belonging to a genetic unit. A mixed generalized linear model was used, which considered the fixed effects of breed, month, year and the interactions breed x month and breed x year, in addition to the random effect of the reproducers in its different mating or kindlings. It was found that all sources of variation considered in the model influenced on the analyzed traits, except the interaction of breed per month of mating in fertility, so the studied traits vary depending on the interaction between breeds and environmental conditions (month and year). The highest fertility occurred in the mating of April, March, May and July, and the lowest in January and August. California showed stability over time and remained the most fertile, when there were differences between breeds in the same year. There were divergences between breeds in the kindlings of February, June, September, October, November and December, with superiority of New Zealand, while Chinchilla had a worse performance for 70 % of those months. New Zealand remained the best in three years, with more than 5.6 total born and live born. This breed is ratified as the most promising for reproductive indicators that determine the rabbit productivity.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Para estudiar el comportamiento de los rasgos de fertilidad y prolificidad al nacer (nacidos totales y vivos), se emplearon 14 659 registros de montas y 8 296 de partos de las poblaciones actuales cunículas de las razas California, Chinchilla y Nueva Zelanda, entre 2014 y 2017, pertenecientes a una unidad genética. Se utilizó un modelo lineal generalizado mixto, que contempló los efectos fijos de raza, mes, año y las interacciones raza x mes y raza x año, además del efecto aleatorio de la reproductora en sus diferentes montas o partos. Se constató que todas las fuentes de variación consideradas en el modelo influyeron en los rasgos analizados, excepto la interacción de raza por mes de monta en la fertilidad, por lo que los rasgos estudiados varían en función de la interacción entre la raza y las condiciones ambientales (mes y año). La mayor fertilidad se presentó en las montas de abril, marzo, mayo y julio, y las más bajas en enero y agosto. La California mostró estabilidad en el tiempo y se mantuvo como la de mayor fertilidad, cuando hubo diferencias entre razas en un mismo año. Existieron divergencias entre razas en los partos de febrero, junio, septiembre, octubre, noviembre y diciembre, con superioridad de la Nueva Zelanda, mientras que la Chinchilla tuvo peor desempeño para el 70 % de esos meses. Nueva Zelanda se mantuvo como la mejor en tres años, con más de 5.6 nacidos totales y vivos. Esta raza se ratifica como la más promisoria para indicadores reproductivos que determinan la productividad cunícula.]]></p></abstract>
