<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2079-34802020000300331&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2079-34802020000300331&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2079-34802020000300331&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The objective of the current study was to evaluate the effect of inclusion of sweet potato tubers (Ipomoea batatas) and Pediococus pentosaceus LB-25 on the nutritional value of mixed silages of Cenchrus purpureus x Cebchrus glaucum (OM-22 hybrid) and Moringa oleifera, by analyzing its chemical composition and indicators of its in vitro fermentation. A completely randomized experimental design with a factorial arrangement (3x2) was used, in which the main factors were the 3 levels of sweet potato inclusion (0, 25 and 50%) and the inclusion or not of Pediococcus. DM yield of the silage was decreased by 50% of tubers. Sweet potato inclusion level decreased pH, DM, NDF and ADF, while the inclusion of LB-25 only increased NDF from 61.5 to 64.5% (P &lt;0.05). Neither of the two factors affected protein content of silages (P&gt; 0.05). A tendency to increase potential and fractional rate of gas production was observed as sweet potato level increased, reaching the highest potential in the silage forage + 50% sweet potato + LB-25 (662.69 mL g incOM-1). DAIVMS increased with 50% of sweet potato (P = 0.2101). It is concluded that the inclusion of sweet potato tubers in mixed silages of C. purpureus x C. glaucum (OM-22 hybrid) and M. oleifera improved the nutritional value of conserved materials, with the best results when 50% was included. On the other hand, the use of P. pentosaceus LB-25 strain, at 5% (v/w), did not influence the nutritional quality of evaluated silages, except that NDF content increased.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El objetivo fue evaluar el efecto de la inclusión de tubérculos de boniato (Ipomoea batatas) y Pediococus pentosaceus LB-25 en el valor nutritivo de ensilajes mixtos de Cenchrus purpureus x Cebchrus glaucum (híbrido OM-22) y Moringa oleifera, mediante el análisis de su composición química e indicadores de su fermentación in vitro. Se usó un diseño experimental completamente aleatorizado con arreglo factorial (3x2), donde los factores principales fueron los 3 niveles de inclusión de boniato (0, 25 y 50%) y la inclusión o no del Pediococcus. El 50% de tubérculos disminuyó el rendimiento de MS del ensilado. El nivel de inclusión del boniato disminuyó pH, MS, FDN y FDA, mientras la inclusión de LB-25 solo incrementó FDN de 61.5 a 64.5% (P&lt; 0.05). Ninguno de los dos factores afectó el contenido proteico de los ensilajes (P&gt;0.05). Se observó tendencia al aumento del potencial y la tasa fraccional de producción de gas al incrementarse el nivel de boniato, alcanzándose el mayor potencial en el ensilado Forraje+50% boniato+LB-25 (662.69 mL g MOinc-1). La DAIVMS se incrementó con 50% de boniato (P=0.2101). Se concluye que la inclusión de tubérculos de boniato en ensilajes mixtos de C. purpureus x C. glaucum (híbrido OM-22) y M. oleifera mejoró el valor nutritivo de los materiales conservados, con los mejores resultados cuando se incluyó al 50%. Por su parte, el empleo de la cepa P. pentosaceus LB-25, al 5% (v/p), no influyó en la calidad nutritiva de los ensilajes evaluados, excepto que aumentó el contenido de FDN.]]></p></abstract>
