Nesse sentido, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar a dependência de videogames em adolescentes da terceira, quarta e quinta série do ensino médio na cidade de Cusco, Peru. A abordagem abordada foi quantitativa, o delineamento não experimental e do tipo, descritivo - transversal. A amostra foi composta por 164 adolescentes que responderam ao Test de Dependencia de Videojuegos, instrumento com níveis adequados de validade de conteúdo e confiabilidade. Os resultados indicam que o nível de dependência de videogames de 40,2% foi moderado, 37,2% baixo e 22,6% alto. Por outro lado, determinou-se que a dependência de videogames estava significativamente associada a algumas variáveis sociodemográficas, como gênero e horas dedicadas ao seu uso (p&lt;0,05). Concluiu-se que o nível de dependência de videogames em adolescentes do terceiro, quarto e quinta série do ensino médio na cidade de Cusco foi moderado. Por isso, é necessário orientar os pais para que limitem o tempo em que os adolescentes permanecem conectados aos videogames e evitem que joguem videogames violentos ou inapropriados para a idade.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT At present, video games have become a very popular activity among adolescents and young people, however, concerns have arisen regarding the pathological behaviors associated with their use. In this sense, the objective of this research was to analyze the video games dependence in adolescents in the third, fourth and fifth grade of secondary education in the city of Cusco, Peru. The approach addressed was quantitative, the design was non-experimental and the type, descriptive - cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 164 students who responded to the Videogame Dependency Test, an instrument with adequate levels of validity based on content and reliability. The results indicate that the level of dependence on video games of 40.2% was moderate, 37.2% was low and 22.6% was high. On the other hand, it was determined that dependence on videogames was significantly associated with some sociodemographic variables such as gender and the hours devoted to their use (p&lt;0.05). It was concluded that the level of dependence on video games in adolescents in the third, fourth and fifth grade of secondary education in the city of Cusco was moderate. For this reason, it is necessary to guide parents so that they limit the time in which adolescents remain connected to video games and prevent them from playing violent or inappropriate video games for their ages.]]></p></abstract>

En este sentido, el objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la adicción a los videojuegos en adolescentes de tercero, cuarto y quinto grado de secundaria de la ciudad de Cusco, Perú. El enfoque adoptado fue cuantitativo, el diseño fue no experimental y del tipo, descriptivo - transversal. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 164 adolescentes que respondieron al Test de Dependencia de Videojuegos, instrumento con adecuados niveles de validez de contenido y confiabilidad. Los resultados indican que el nivel de dependencia de videojuegos del 40,2% fue moderado, 37,2% bajo y 22,6% alto. Por otro lado, se determinó que la dependencia a los videojuegos se asoció significativamente con algunas variables sociodemográficas, como el género y las horas dedicadas a su uso (p&lt;0,05). Se concluyó que el nivel de adicción a los videojuegos en adolescentes de tercero, cuarto y quinto de secundaria de la ciudad del Cusco fue moderado. Por lo tanto, es necesario orientar a los padres para limitar el tiempo que los adolescentes permanecen conectados a los videojuegos y evitar que jueguen videojuegos violentos o inapropiados para su edad.]]></p></abstract>
