El objetivo del presente trabajo consistió en evaluar, mediante el aprendizaje experiencial, el efecto de diferentes períodos de envejecimiento acelerado sobre la viabilidad de semillas de Valeriana officinalis L. El estudio se realizó en el Banco de Germoplasma "César Gómez Campo", del Departamento de Biotecnología y Biología Vegetal de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, España, entre julio y septiembre del 2017. Se evaluaron seis tratamientos para la geminación, cada tratamiento con cuatro réplicas de 25 semillas (control: sin envejecimiento y adición de ácido giberélico (2,6 mM) y cinco períodos de envejecimiento acelerado (EA) 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 días y adición de ácido giberélico (2,6 mM) durante 24 h a 25 oC fuera de la luz). Las variables evaluadas fueron: germinación (%) y días evaluados. Los resultados fueron analizados bajo un análisis estadístico de ANOVA de un solo factor. La mejor germinación se obtuvo con el tratamiento control con ácido giberélico (16%) y agua destilada (12%) en un período de 47 días; superior a los valores presentados por los demás tratamientos con envejecimiento que tuvieron un porcentaje de 0,6% y 0,4% de semillas germinadas respectivamente. Se pudo determinar que las semillas V. officinalis no toleran el envejecimiento acelerado y pierden su viabilidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT In the application of the experiential method, the functions and roles played by the agents and social agencies related to the experience are of great value, in addition to their contributions to group and individual enrichment. The objective of the present work consisted of evaluating, through experiential learning, the effect of different periods of accelerated aging on the viability of seeds of Valeriana officinalis L. The study was carried out at the "César Gómez Campo" Germplasm Bank, Department of Biotechnology and Plant Biology of the Polytechnic university of Madrid, España, between July and September 2017. Six treatments were evaluated for germination, each treatment with four replicates of 25 seeds (control: without aging and addition of gibberellin acid (2.6 mM); and five periods of accelerated aging (AA) 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 days and addition of gibberellic acid (2.6 mM) for 24 h at 25 oC out of light). The variables evaluated were: germination (%) and days evaluated. The results were analyzed under a single factor ANOVA statistical analysis. The best germination was obtained with the control treatment with gibberellic acid (16%) and distilled water (12%) in a period of 47 days; higher than the values presented by the other treatments with aging that had a percentage of 0.6% and 0.4% of germinated seeds, respectively. You could determine that the V. officinalis seeds do not tolerate accelerated aging and lose their viability.]]></p></abstract>
