Por ello, el objetivo de la presente investigación fue evaluar el compromiso académico de los estudiantes de educación superior pedagógica al retornar a las clases presenciales. El enfoque fue cuantitativo, el diseño, no experimental y el tipo, descriptivo transversal. Se evaluó el compromiso académico a 145 estudiantes mediante la aplicación de la Escala UWES-S, instrumento con adecuados niveles de validez basada en el contenido y confiabilidad. Los resultados indican que el nivel de compromiso académico del 40% de los estudiantes era alto, del 34,5% era moderado y del 25,5% era bajo. Respecto a sus dimensiones, el nivel de dedicación y absorción también fueron valorados en un nivel alto, mientras que la dimensión vigor fue valorada en un nivel moderado. Asimismo, se determinó que los niveles de compromiso académico se asociaban de manera significativa al género y grupo etario de los estudiantes (p&lt;0,05). Finalmente, se concluyó que los estudiantes de educación superior pedagógica se caracterizaban por presentar altos niveles de compromiso académico al retornar a las clases presenciales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The effort made by students in the development of their academic activities is considered a determining factor in their learning results. Therefore, the objective of this research was to evaluate the academic engagement of students of higher pedagogical education when they return to face-to-face classes. The approach was quantitative, the design was non-experimental and the type was cross-sectional descriptive. The academic engagement of 145 students was evaluated by applying the UWES-S Scale, an instrument with adequate levels of validity based on content and reliability. The results indicate that the level of academic engagement of 40% of the students was high, 34.5% was moderate and 25.5% was low. Regarding its dimensions, the level of dedication and absorption were also valued at a high level, while the vigor dimension was valued at a moderate level. Likewise, it was determined that the levels of academic engagement were significantly associated with the gender and age group of the students (p&lt;0.05). Finally, it was concluded that the students of higher pedagogical education were characterized by presenting high levels of academic commitment when they returned to face-to-face classes.]]></p></abstract>
