Por ello, la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo describir la relación que existe entre el funcionamiento familiar y las habilidades sociales en los adolescentes del tercer, cuarto y quinto grado de secundaria pertenecientes a 3 instituciones educativas públicas peruanas. Se recurrió a un enfoque cuantitativo con un diseño no experimental y de tipo descriptivo - correlacional transeccional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 211 estudiantes quienes respondieron a la Escala de Evaluación de Cohesión y Adaptabilidad Familiar y a la Lista de Evaluación de las Habilidades Sociales, instrumentos con adecuados niveles de validez basada en el contenido y confiabilidad. Según los resultados, los estudiantes se caracterizaban por percibir que el funcionamiento familiar era de rango medio, presentaban un nivel moderado de sus habilidades sociales y se determinó que el coeficiente de correlación Rho de Spearman entre ambas variables fue de 0,768 con un p-valor inferior al nivel de significancia (p&lt;0,05). Se concluyó que existe relación directa y significativa entre el funcionamiento familiar y las habilidades sociales de los adolescentes, por ello, era necesario que las instituciones educativas promuevan talleres enfocados en reorientar la función que cumple la familia y fortalecer los lazos familiares para que los estudiantes convivan en un entorno psicológicamente saludable.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Currently, family functioning is considered a relevant factor that affects the biopsychosocial development of family members. Therefore, the objective of this research was to describe the relationship between family functioning and social skills in adolescents in the third, fourth and fifth grade of secondary school belonging to 3 Peruvian public educational institutions. A quantitative approach was used with a non-experimental and descriptive-correlational transectional design. The sample consisted of 211 students who responded to the Family Cohesion and Adaptability Assessment Scale and the Social Skills Assessment List, instruments with adequate levels of validity based on content and reliability. According to the results, the students were characterized by perceiving that family functioning was medium range, they presented a moderate level of their social skills and it was determined that the Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient between both variables was 0.768 with a lower p-value. at the significance level (p&lt;0.05). It was concluded that there is a direct and significant relationship between family functioning and the social skills of adolescents, therefore, it was necessary for educational institutions to promote workshops focused on reorienting the role of the family and strengthening family ties so that students can live together. in a psychologically healthy environment.]]></p></abstract>
