Para lograr este objetivo, fue necesario evaluar diversos aspectos ambientales, económicos, sociales, factores culturales y políticos pertinentes al entorno turístico del cantón para encontrar soluciones viables que permitieran el crecimiento turístico de la región. La información se recopiló utilizando una variedad de métodos, incluida la investigación documental y de campo, sin un diseño de investigación experimental, los datos fueron analizados a través de la matriz DAFO. La población, los atractivos turísticos y la capacidad operativa de la industria turística de la región se consideraron factores importantes. Los hallazgos de este estudio demuestran la importancia de un plan turístico adecuado para el desarrollo de Saquisil como destino turístico y sugieren la necesidad de establecer políticas y estrategias que propicien una mayor participación de la comunidad local y de los actores en el turismo sector en el desarrollo sostenible de la región.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The present study focusedin the strategic analysis and the collection of information on the development of tourism in the Saquisilí canton,in order to strengthen the tourism development of the region. To achieve this objective, it was necessary to evaluate various environmental, economic, social, cultural and political factors relevant to the canton's tourism environment in order to find viable solutions that would allow tourism growth in the region. Information was collected using a variety of methods, including desk and field research, without an experimental research design,the data was analyzed through the SWOT matrix.The population, tourist attractions and the operational capacity of the region's tourism industry were considered important factors. The findings of this study demonstrate the importance of an adequate tourism plan for the development of Saquisil as a tourist destination and suggest the need to establish policies and strategies that encourage greater participation of the local community and stakeholders in the tourism development sector sustainable in the region.]]></p></abstract>
