El objetivo de esta investigación es proponer una metodología para la evaluación de los geositios con fines turísticos en Cuba. El diseño de la propuesta se realiza teniendo en cuenta dos momentos fundamentales: preparación de las bases para el diseño de la metodología y diseño de la metodología para la evaluación de los geositios con fines turísticos. Se realiza la búsqueda, comparación y análisis de la literatura científica sobre diferentes métodos para la evaluación de geositios con fines turísticos en bases de datos como Sciencedirect y Scopus. La metodología diseñada se estructura en cinco fases que incluyen 18 indicadores de evaluación, se pondera el método cuantitativo con el empleo del método de observación científica y encuestas para tener una visión global al recopilar información desde la perspectiva de los turistas, comunidad, expertos y gestores. Como herramienta de análisis se emplea la Matriz de Interpretación de Resultados. La metodología propuesta será una herramienta importante para mejorar la gestión de los geositios turísticos y garantizar su conservación.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT It is essential to evaluate geosites for tourism purposes in order to achieve a more varied tourist offer, improve the quality of the visitor's experience and ensure the conservation of these areas. The objective of this research is to propose a methodology for the evaluation of geosites for tourism purposes in Cuba. The design of the proposal is carried out taking into account two fundamental moments: the preparation of the bases for the design of the methodology and the design of the methodology for the evaluation of geosites for tourism purposes. A search, comparison and analysis of scientific literature on different methods of evaluation of geosites for tourism purposes will be carried out in databases such as Sciencedirect and Scopus. The methodology developed is structured in five phases that include 18 evaluation indicators, the quantitative method is weighted with the use of scientific observation method and surveys to have a global vision when collecting information from the perspective of tourists, community, experts and managers. The results interpretation matrix will be used as an analysis tool. The proposed methodology will be an important tool to improve the management of tourist geosites and guarantee their conservation.]]></p></abstract>
