Thermoplastic and thermosetting polymeric materialswere not considered.The requirements by durability that are intended to be defined in the construction-manufacturing materials, will guarantee a higher long project service to all the infrastructure to be built or manufactured, mainly in any coastal zone in China and worldwide. A very significant economic benefit for developing countries is expected. In this way, the infrastructure exposed to the impact of the coastal atmospheric environment in any coastal zone worldwide, will almostnever reach its residual useful life.Cuba, as an island with a tropical coastal climate, in addition to the high relative humidity and deposition of chloride ion salts in the form of saline solution, is an ideal country to carry out these studies.A new corrosivity category of the atmosphere higher than extreme(&gt;CX) for carbon steelin a coastal zones with high construction potentialwas reported. The corrosivity categories of the atmospherereported in China for the metallic materials most used in the construction-manufacturing industry have been lower than those determined in the tropical coastal climate of Cuba.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El desempeño por durabilidad de los materiales de construcción-fabricación de la República Popular de China será estudiada considerando el impacto del ambiente agresivo costero de la atmósfera de Cuba. Estudios investigativos entre dos países, uno caracterizado por una elevada producción y comercialización de materiales para la industria de la construcción-fabricación como China, y el otro por presentar un impacto muy elevado del ambiente agresivo costero de la atmósfera como Cuba, no fueron encontrados. Los estudios ejecutados evaluaron el impacto del ambiente agresivo costero de la atmósfera de manera independiente en sus propios materiales. Materiales poliméricos termoplásticos y termoresistentes no fueron considerados. Los requerimientos por durabilidad que pretenden ser definidos en los materiales de construcción-fabricación garantizarán una vida útil de proyecto más elevada a toda la infraestructura que se pretende construir, principalmente en cualquier zona costera de China y a nivel mundial. Un beneficio económico para países en vías de desarrollo es esperado. De esta forma, la infraestructura expuesta al impacto del ambiente agresivo costero de la atmósfera nunca alcanzará su vida útil residual. Cuba, al ser una isla con un clima tropical costero, además de la humedad relativaelevada y la deposición de sales de iones cloruro en forma de disolución salina, es un país ideal para la ejecución de estos tipos de estudio. Una nueva categoría de agresividad corrosiva de la atmósfera mayor que extrema (&gt; CX) para el acero al carbono fue reportada en una zona costera de elevado potencial constructivo. Las categorías de agresividad corrosiva de la atmósfera reportadas en China para los materiales metálicos más usados en la industria de la construcción-fabricación han sido inferiores a las determinadas en el clima tropical costero de Cuba.]]></p></abstract>
