Evaluar los efectos de la condición corporal, categoría de la hembra, estado reproductivo y técnico inseminador sobre la tasa de concepción con un protocolo de inseminación a tiempo fijo en vacas mestizas de carne.  Métodos:  Fueron tratadas 711 hembras mestizas de carne, con un dispositivo intravaginal de progesterona + benzoato de estradiol (día 0), retiro del dispositivo + cipionato de estradiol+ eCG + PgF2&#945; (día 8), IATF a las 46-50 h posteriores y diagnóstico de la gestación (ultrasonografía) a los 30 días post inseminación. Los efectos (categoría de la hembra, condición corporal, ciclicidad ovárica y técnico inseminador) en la tasa de concepción al primer servicio, fueron evaluados con la prueba de Chi Cuadrado y comparaciones por pares de proporciones con la corrección de Bonferroni, con un nivel de P &lt; 0,05 y validados mediante la regresión logística binaria por pasos (Wald hacia adelante) con contraste simple.  Resultados: La tasa de concepción al primer servicio sólo fue influida significativamente por el técnico inseminador, con odds ratio de 3,35; 4,62 y 1,94 para los técnicos inseminadores 2, 3 y 4 respectivamente en comparación con el de referencia.  Conclusiones:  La eficiencia del técnico inseminador (medida por la tasa de gestación al primer servicio y la razón de probabilidad) fue decisiva en los resultados alcanzados con diferencias significativas entre ellos. Se recomienda utilizar la metodología empleada para la evaluación sistemática de los técnicos inseminadores en la eficiencia de los resultados de los programas de IATF.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Objective. To assess the effects of body condition, female category, reproductive status and inseminator technician on the conception rate with a fixed-time insemination protocol in beef crossbreed cows.  Methods:  711 beef crossbred cows were treated (day 0) with an intravaginal device of progesterone + estradiol benzoate, on day 8 removal of the device + estradiol cypionate + eCG + PgF2&#945;, IATF at 46-50 h later and diagnosis of pregnancy (ultrasonography) at 30 days&#8217; post insemination. The effects (category of the female, body condition, ovarian cyclicity and inseminator technician) in the conception rate at the first service, were evaluated with the Chi Square test and comparisons by pairs of proportions with the Bonferroni correction, with a level of P &lt;0.05 and validated by binary logistic regression by steps (Wald forward) with simple contrast.  Results:  The conception rate at the first service was only significantly influenced by the inseminator technician with odds ratio of 3.35; 4.62 and 1.94 for inseminator technicians 2, 3 and 4 respectively compared to the reference.  Conclusions:  The efficiency of the inseminator technician (measured by the gestation rate at the first service and the odds ratio) was decisive in the results achieved with significant differences between them. It is recommended to use the methodology used for the systematic evaluation of insemination technicians in the efficiency of the results of the IATF programs.]]></p></abstract>
