Con el paso de los años cada vez es mayor el número de pacientes operados por esta técnica. A pesar de ello, la cirugía mínimamente invasiva para el tratamiento del cáncer colorrectal no está exenta de complicaciones postoperatorias.  Objetivo: Realizar un análisis crítico de las complicaciones postoperatorias de la cirugía laparoscópica en pacientes con cáncer colorrectal.  Desarrollo: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de reportes de caso, revisiones bibliográficas, artículos series de casos en inglés y español, desde enero 2005 a diciembre 2021, en revistas nacionales e internacionales indexadas y en bases de datos reconocidas. Las principales palabras clave utilizadas fueron: cáncer colorrectal, cirugía laparoscópica, complicaciones postoperatorias. Luego de la revisión bibliográfica realizada, se analizó las principales complicaciones postoperatorias de la cirugía laparoscópica en el tratamiento del cáncer colorrectal.  Conclusiones:  En la cirugía mínimamente invasiva, como vía de abordaje en el tratamiento del cáncer colorrectal, las principales complicaciones postoperatorias son la infección del sitio quirúrgico y la fuga de la anastomosis.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Introduction:  Laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of neoplastic colorectal disease presents the same benefits as in the case of other procedures performed by this route. Over the years, the number of patients operated on by this technique is increasing. Despite this, minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of colorectal cancer is not free from postoperative complications.  Objective:  To carry out a critical analysis of the postoperative complications of laparoscopic surgery in colorectal cancer patients.  Development:  A bibliographic review of case reports, bibliographic reviews, case series articles in English and Spanish was carried out from January 2005 to December 2021, in indexed national and international journals and in recognized databases. The main keywords used were colorectal cancer, laparoscopic surgery, postoperative complications. After the bibliographic review carried out, the main postoperative complications of laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of colorectal cancer were analyzed.  Conclusions:  In minimally invasive surgery as an approach in the treatment of colorectal cancer, the main postoperative complications are surgical site infection and anastomotic leakage.]]></p></abstract>
