Las aves se distribuyeron según diseño completamente aleatorizado en cuatro tratamientos y diez repeticiones: control (maíz-soya) y tres niveles de inclusión de harina de palmiche: 5, 10 y 15 %. Se determinó la hemoglobina (Hb), el hematocrito (Ht), la concentración de proteínas totales y el colesterol total, así como los triglicéridos (TAG) en sangre. No se observaron diferencias en la concentración de hemoglobina y el hematocrito en sangre respecto al control. Sin embargo, la concentración de proteínas totales aumentó en todos los tratamientos que incluyeron el ingrediente, respecto al control (44,40; 44,22 y 45,78 vs 41,72 g/L, respectivamente) (p&lt;0,05). El colesterol disminuyó con 5 % de inclusión de harina de palmiche en la ración (p&lt;0,05) que difirió del resto (control, 10 % y 15 %). La concentración de triglicéridos fue menor con 5 % y 15 % en relación con el control y el 10 % (1,07 y 0,98 vs 1,38 y 1,36 mmol/L, respectivamente) (p&lt;0,05). Se concluye que la inclusión de harina de palmiche hasta el 15 %, en la ración de pollos de ceba, constituye una fuente alternativa de alimento que no representa daño para la salud del animal, ya que las modificaciones que ocurren en los parámetros sanguíneos se encuentran en los valores de referencia para la especie.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Forty-day-old male broilers (HE21) were used to study the blood indicators with the incorporation of Roystonea regia fruit meal (royal palm nut meal) in the diet. Birds were distributed according to a completely randomized design in four treatments and ten repetitions: control (corn-soybean) and three levels of inclusion of palm meal: 5, 10 and 15 %. Hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (Ht), total protein concentration and cholesterol as well as triglycerides (TG) were determined in blood. No differences were observed in blood hemoglobin and hematocrit concentration with respect to the control. However, total protein concentration increased in all treatments including the ingredient, compared to the control (44.40, 44.22 and 45.78 vs. 41.72 g/L, respectively) (p&lt;0.05). Cholesterol decreased with 5 % inclusion of palm meal in the diet (p&lt;0.05), which differed from the rest (control, 10 % and 15 %). Triglyceride concentration was lower with 5 % and 15 % in relation to the control and 10 % (1.07 and 0.98 vs. 1.38 and 1.36 mmol / L, respectively) (p&lt;0.05).
