El objetivo de este artículo es brindar una guía práctico-metodológica para el desarrollo de la investigación estudiantil en carreras de ingeniería de la educación superior en Ecuador. Se realizó una investigación aplicada con enfoque mixto, desarrollada en cuatro carreras de tres universidades, con dos fases: la determinación de la estructura de la guía y su elaboración, y la aplicación y evaluación de resultados. La guía presenta diez etapas con una retroalimentación continua, que facilita el acompañamiento de la producción científica desde los primeros semestres del pregrado. Se recopiló información durante cinco semestres en dos carreras, con una muestra de 641 alumnos y un total de 94 textos científicos escritos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT To create methodologies for undergraduate students to carry out scientific research is essential for these to design, write, and present articles, reports, and monographs. This paper is aimed at presenting a practical and methodological guide to help Ecuadorian engineering students carry out their research. A mixed research was done in two stages: first, the guide was structured and elaborated; and second, it was used by students majoring in four engineering branches at three universities, and the results obtained were assessed. The guide itself has ten stages, including continuous feedback which facilitates the monitoring of students&#8217; scientific output even since they are freshmen. A sample of 641 students majoring in two engineering branches was surveyed over five semesters. They wrote 94 scientific articles.]]></p></abstract>
