Después de una minuciosa revisión de la información escrita, se constató que este frutal constituye una opción viable para incrementar la biodiversidad de los agroecosistemas con aportes socioeconómicos tangibles y como contribución alterna a los monocultivos como la palma africana, en el país, con especial significado para el Estado de Chiapas, el establecimiento de este frutal como cultivo alimenticio, por su alto valor nutricional, podría estar dentro de las opciones como alimento regulador, dentro de los agroecosistemas, así mismo, constituye una alternativa de producción necesaria por su adaptabilidad ante los efectos manifiestos de irregularidades como consecuencia del cambio climático. En el presente trabajo se hace una descripción acerca del desarrollo del cultivo de rambután en México. Se abordan los principales resultados científicos obtenidos en el país para lograr éxitos productivos y comercializables a escala nacional e internacional, se exponen los principales obstáculos y oportunidades para su producción por métodos convencionales y agroecológicos, sus ventajas y desventajas. Se presentan los resultados de un diagnóstico realizado en una localidad del Municipio Villa Comaltitlán en Chiapas. Finalmente se observan las razones por las que se hace necesario iniciar un proceso de capacitación basado en resultados de las investigaciones iniciadas hace una década de haberse establecido el rambután en esta localidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The information provided in this work is a scientific look at the state of the art of growing rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) in Mexico, with special emphasis on its production as a main element in a multicultural system and the use of coverage as alternatives agro-ecological After a thorough review of the written information, it was found that this fruit is a viable option to increase the biodiversity of agroecosystems with tangible socio-economic contributions and as an alternative contribution to monocultures such as African palm in the country with special significance for the Chiapas State, the establishment of this fruit as a food crop, for its high nutritional value, could be within the options as a regulatory food, within the agroecosystems, likewise, it constitutes an alternative production necessary for its adaptability to the manifest effects of irregularities as a result of climate change. In the present work a description is made about the development of rambutan cultivation in Mexico. The main scientific results obtained in the country are addressed to achieve productive and marketable successes at national and international level, the main obstacles and opportunities for their production are exposed by conventional and agroecological methods, their advantages and disadvantages. The results of a diagnosis made in a town of Villa Comaltitlán Municipality in Chiapas are presented. Finally, the reasons why it is necessary to start a training process based on the results of the investigations initiated a decade ago of having established the rambutan in this locality are observed.]]></p></abstract>
