<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0258-59362019000300007&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0258-59362019000300007&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0258-59362019000300007&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN En el Departamento de Genética y Mejoramiento de las Plantas del Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Agrícolas, se llevó a cabo un experimento con semillas de pimiento (Capsicum annuum L.) cultivar &#8216;YAMIL&#8217;, en el cual se compararon diferentes concentraciones de hipoclorito de sodio (NaOCl) [1,25; 2,5 y 5 %] y tiempos de desinfección (uno,tres y cinco minutos) de las semillas de pimiento cultivar &#8216;YAMIL&#8217; para su posterior implantación in vitro, en dos medios de cultivo, que contenían las sales del medio de cultivo basal de Murashige y Skoog (MS),suplementado con sacarosa (15 y 30 g L-1), con el objetivo de determinar el mejor tratamiento y tiempo de desinfección de las semillas de este cultivar de pimiento. Los resultados obtenidos en este trabajo, indicaron que el 100 % de las semillas se desinfectaron con el NaOCl al 2,5% por tres minutos o al 5 % durante tres minutos.El 100 % de las semillas germinaron y la mayor altura de las plántulas (5,84 cm), así como el número de raíces por plántula (5,15) y el vigor de las mismas, mostraron los mejores resultados con la utilización del NaOCl (5 %) durante un minuto y el empleo del medio de cultivo MS suplementado con sacarosa (30 g L-1) que fueron estadísticamente superiores a los tratamientos controles. A partir de los resultados obtenidos se obtiene una metodología de desinfección para la implantación in vitro del pimiento cultivar &#8216;YAMIL&#8217;.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT In the Department of Genetics and Plant Improvement of the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, an experiment was carried out with pepper seeds (Capsicum annuum L.) cultivating &#8216;YAMIL&#8217;, in which different concentrations of sodium hypochlorite were compared ( NaOCl) [1.25; 2.5 and 5 %] and disinfection times (one, three and five minutes) of the pepper seeds cultivate &#8216;YAMIL&#8217; for later implantation in vitro, in two culture media, which contained the salts of the basal culture medium of Murashige and Skoog (MS), supplemented with sucrose (15 and 30 g L-1), in order to determine the best treatment and disinfection time of the seeds of this pepper cultivar. The results obtained in this work indicated that 100% of the seeds were disinfected with 2.5 % NaOCl for three minutes or 5 % for three minutes. 100 % of the seeds germinated and the highest seedling height (5.84 cm), as well as the number of roots per seedling (5.15) and their vigor, showed the best results with the use of NaOCl (5 %) for one minute and the use of the culture medium MS supplemented with sucrose (30 g L-1) that were statistically superior to the control treatments. From the results obtained, a disinfection methodology is obtained for the in vitro implantation of the &#8216;YAMIL&#8217; cultivar pepper.]]></p></abstract>
