<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0258-59362020000300005&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0258-59362020000300005&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0258-59362020000300005&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El objetivo de este ensayo conducido en el Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Agrícolas (INCA) fue emplear la metodología Mamá- Bebé en la selección participativa de cultivares (cv) de papa, se tuvo en cuenta los criterios de selección desde el punto de vista de género en la selección. 74 cultivares fueron plantados en un diseño de bloques al azar (ensayo mamá) replicados tres veces en el INCA y en parcelas de observación sin réplicas en otras tres fincas de producción. La caracterización de los cultivares en el ensayo Mamá-Bebé fue basada sobre caracteres cuantitativos y cualitativos, donde se realizó un análisis de frecuencia para los cualitativos, para los cuantitativos un análisis de varianza de un factor y una prueba de comparación de medias mediante la Prueba de Duncan (p&#8804;0.05). Los datos en las parcelas Bebé se procesaron mediante la estadística descriptiva haciendo uso del paquete IBM SPSS versión 21.0; la información de los criterios de selección llevada a cabo por mujeres y hombres agricultores se procesó a través de la prueba Chi cuadrado de comparación de proporciones. Los resultados mostraron diversidad de caracteres cualitativos y cuantitativos. De los 74 cultivares de papa, 41 recibieron al menos un voto. Sin embargo, al analizar el comportamiento en general en los ensayos y las selecciones practicadas por los Hombre y mujeres agricultores, la correspondencia de cultivares seleccionados fueron 15: &#8220;Loane&#8221;, &#8220;Amany&#8221;, &#8220;Zinared&#8221;, &#8220;Dirosso&#8221;, &#8220;Tornado&#8221;, &#8220;Daifla&#8221;, &#8220;Touareg&#8221;, &#8220;Atlas&#8221;, &#8220;Manitou&#8221;, &#8220;Arizona&#8221;, &#8220;Cimega&#8221;, &#8220;Margarita&#8221;, &#8220;Rudolph&#8221;, &#8220;Melanto&#8221; y &#8220;Faluka&#8221;. Por otro lado, se revelaron criterios valiosos pero diferentes al considerar la selección por género.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The aim of this assay performed at the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INCA) was to use the Mother-Baby methodology in the participatory selection of potato cultivars and to evaluate selection criteria taking account the point of view gender. 74 cultivars were planted in a randomized block design (mother trial) replicated three times in the INCA and in observation plots without replicas in three other production farms. The characterization of the cultivars in the Mother-Baby trial was based on quantitative and qualitative traits, a frequency analysis was carried out for the qualitative ones, and an analysis of variance of a factor and a test of comparison of means, for the quantitative ones by means Duncan´s Test (p&#8804;0.05). The data in the Baby plots were processed through a descriptive statistical analysis, using the IBM SPSS version 21.0 package while the selection criteria carry out for female and male farmers was evaluated through Chi-square test of comparison of proportions. The result showed a great diversity of the quantitative and qualitative traits. From 74 potato cultivars, 41 were selected by the majority of the votes, however, the correspondence of selected cultivars was 15: &#8220;Loane&#8221;, &#8220;Amany&#8221;,&#8221;Zinared&#8221;, &#8220;Dirosso&#8221;, &#8220;Tornado&#8221;, &#8220;Daifla&#8221;, &#8220;Touareg&#8221;, &#8220;Atlas&#8221;, &#8220;Manitou&#8221;, &#8220;Arizona&#8221;, &#8220;Cimega&#8221;, &#8220;Margarita&#8221;, &#8220;Rudolph&#8221;, &#8220;Melanto&#8221; y &#8220;Faluka&#8221; when analyzing their behavior in general in the trials and selections practiced by female and male farmers and plant breeders. Regarding selection criteria carry out for men and women the analysis revealed valuable but different criteria between female and male farmers.On the other hand, valued but different criteria were revealed when considering gender selection.]]></p></abstract>
