<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0258-59362020000400002&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0258-59362020000400002&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0258-59362020000400002&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El modelo agrícola de la Revolución Verde ha conducido a la degradación paulatina de los suelos, lo cual está motivado por los impactos que causa, entre los que destaca el uso indiscriminado de los fertilizantes sintéticos que, si bien incrementan los rendimientos hasta cierto punto, también acidifican el suelo, acumulan sales, provocan estrés hídrico y contaminan las aguas y las cosechas. Los bioestimulantes constituyen una alternativa a estas prácticas, al ser microorganismos o productos que influyen favorablemente sobre las plantas, no sólo por la aportación de nutrientes sino por contener sustancias como proteínas, aminoácidos, ácidos húmicos y fúlvicos, reguladores del crecimiento, y otras moléculas benéficas. Se presentan los resultados preliminares de varias investigaciones sobre el empleo de bioestimulantes orgánicos (bioles, lixiviados de estiércol y de vermicompost, ácidos húmicos, microorganismos eficientes) sobre cuatro especies de ciclo corto: estevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni), acelga (Beta vulgaris L. subsp. cicla), maní (Arachis hypogaea L.) y ajonjolí (Sesamum indicum L.). Se evaluaron variables que caracterizan el crecimiento y rendimiento de cada una de las especies estudiadas, durante un ciclo de cultivo, en diseños experimentales de bloques completamente aleatorizados. En general, el empleo de alguno de los bioestimulantes ensayados permitió resultados similares o superiores a los que se obtuvo con la fertilización química en las cuatro especies estudiadas. Los resultados alcanzados estimulan el empleo de estos bioestimulantes como sustitutos o complementos de la fertilización química convencional en estas especies, contribuyendo a la sostenibilidad de la producción agrícola sin perjuicio del medio ambiente.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The agricultural model of the Green Revolution has led to the gradual degradation of soils, which is motivated by the impacts it causes, among which stands out the indiscriminate use of synthetic fertilizers, which while increasing yields to some extent, also acidify the soil, accumulate salts, provoke hydric stress and pollute water and crops. Biostimulants are an alternative to these practices, as they are microorganisms or products that favorably influence plants, not only due to the contribution of nutrients but also because they contain substances such as proteins, amino acids, humic and fulvic acids, growth regulators, and other beneficial molecules. Preliminary results of several investigations on the use of organic biostimulants (bioles, manure and vermicompost leachates, humic acids, efficient microorganisms) on four short-cycle species are presented: stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni), Swiss chard (Beta vulgaris L. subsp. cicla), peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) and sesame (Sesamum indicum L.). Variables that characterize the growth and yield of each of the studied species were evaluated, during a crop cycle, in experimental designs of completely randomized blocks. In general, the use of any of the biostimulants tested allowed similar or superior results to those obtained with chemical fertilization in the four species studied. The results obtained stimulate the use of these biostimulants as substitutes or complements of conventional chemical fertilization in these species, contributing to the sustainability of agricultural production without prejudice to the environment.]]></p></abstract>
