<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0258-59362020000400009&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0258-59362020000400009&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0258-59362020000400009&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN La presente investigación inició su estudio preguntándose ¿De qué manera influye la implementación de filtros verdes en la calidad de las aguas residuales? donde el objetivo principal es estudiar el impacto de los filtros verdes como una estrategia no convencional para el tratamiento de aguas residuales, con relación a la liberación de gases efecto invernadero, analizando su emisión o retención durante el proceso de depuración; además de demostrar que es una tecnología apropiada para pequeñas comunidades. Sin embargo, durante el proceso de depuración, se pueden generar gases efecto invernadero (GEIs) a medida que se lleva a cabo la degradación anaeróbica de la materia orgánica, que pueden ser emitidos a la atmósfera y contribuir de esta manera al calentamiento global. Las especies comúnmente utilizadas en el proceso de depuración son: sauce (Salix spp.) álamo o chopo (Populus spp.) y eucalipto (Eucalyptus spp.), ya que presenten una elevada capacidad de depuración, asimilación de nutrientes y rápido crecimiento. Es así como los sistemas agroforestales tienen un gran potencial de secuestro de carbono debido a su mayor capacidad de captura y utilización de recursos de crecimiento, considerándoles, una medida de mitigación para la reducción de las emisiones de GEIs.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The present investigation began its study wondering in what way the implementation of green filters influences the quality of wastewater, where the main objective is to study the impact of green filters as an unconventional strategy for wastewater treatment. All this in relation to the release of greenhouse gases, analyzing their emission or retention during the purification process; in addition to demonstrating that it is an appropriate technology for small communities. However, during the purification process, greenhouse gases (GHGs) can be generated as anaerobic degradation of organic matter takes place, which can be emitted into the atmosphere and thus contribute to global warming. The species commonly used in the purification process are willow (Salix spp.) Poplar (Populus spp.) and eucalyptus (Eucalyptus spp.), since they have a high purification capacity, assimilation of nutrients and rapid growth. This is how agroforestry systems have great potential for carbon sequestration due to their greater capacity to capture and use growth resources, considering them as a mitigation measure to reduce GHG emissions.]]></p></abstract>
