Objetivo:  evaluar la influencia de factores riesgo en el desarrollo de enfermedades cardiovasculares en el adulto de 50 años o menos.  Método:  se realizó un estudio analítico retrospectivo de casos y testigos (relación 1 caso: 1 testigo) en pacientes con el diagnóstico de enfermedad cardiovascular (ECV) que ingresaron en el Hospital Provincial Universitario &#8220;Carlos Manuel de Céspedes&#8221; del municipio Bayamo, Granma, desde el 5 de enero de 2017 hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2018.  Resultados:  el sexo masculino (OR: 1,00; IC: 0,449-2,087; p: 0,999) y el alcoholismo (OR: 0,53; IC: 0,012-1,236; p: 0,000) no mostraron asociación con el riesgo de desarrollar una ECV, sin embargo, el hábito de fumar elevó el mencionado riesgo a más de cinco veces (OR: 5,52; IC: 2,326-13,106; p: 0,000). La comorbilidad con mayor fuerza de asociación lo mostró la HTA (OR: 36,42; IC: 213,118-51,161; p: 0,000) mientras que la proteína C reactiva (OR: 6,01; IC: 2,640-13,681; p: 0,000) fue el biomarcador de mayor asociación con el riesgo de desarrollar una ECV. Asimismo, el análisis multivariado mostró que los factores con mayor influencia independiente para desarrollar una ECV fue la proteína C reactiva al elevar el riesgo a 49,35 (IC: 3,968-61,906; p: 0,000) seguida en orden de importancia la HTA (OR: 25,4; IC: 14,481-44,118; p: 0,000) ambos de forma muy significativa.  Conclusiones:  se obtuvo un modelo para estimar el riesgo de desarrollar una enfermedad cardiovascular útil como instrumento de vigilancia clínica y epidemiológica, al identificar a sujetos con mayor probabilidad de enfermar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Introduction:  cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of morbidity and mortality, despite improvements in clinical results and the introduction of new drugs.  Objective:  to evaluate the influence of risk factors in the development of cardiovascular diseases in adults aged up to 50 years.  Method:  a retrospective analytical study of cases and controls (relation 1 case: 1 control) was carried out in patients with the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease (CVD) who were admitted to the "Carlos Manuel de Céspedes" Provincial University Hospital of the Bayamo municipality, Granma, from January 5, 2017 to December 31, 2018.  Results:  male sex (OR: 1.00; CI: 0.449-2.087; p: 0.999) and alcoholism (OR: 0.53; CI: 0.012-1.236; p: 0.000) showed no association with the risk of developing however, a CVD increased the mentioned risk more than five times (OR: 5.52; CI: 2,326-13,106; p: 0.000). The comorbidity with the highest strength of association was shown by HTN (OR: 36.42; CI: 213,118-51,161; p: 0.000) while C-reactive protein (OR: 6.01; CI: 2,640-13,681; p: 0.000) was the biomarker with the highest association with the risk of developing a CVD. Likewise, the multivariate analysis showed that the factors with the greatest independent influence to develop a CVD were C-reactive protein by increasing the risk to 49.35 (CI: 3.968-61.906; p: 0.000) followed in order of importance by HT (OR : 25.4; CI: 14.481-44.118; p: 0.000) both very significantly.  Conclusions:  a model was obtained to estimate the risk of developing cardiovascular disease useful as an instrument for clinical and epidemiological surveillance, by identifying subjects with a greater probability of becoming ill.]]></p></abstract>

Objetivo: avaliar a influência de fatores de risco no desenvolvimento de doenças cardiovasculares em adultos com 50 anos ou menos.  Método: foi realizado um estudo analítico retrospectivo de casos e controles (relação 1 caso: 1 controle) em pacientes com diagnóstico de doença cardiovascular (DCV) admitidos no Hospital Universitário Provincial "Carlos Manuel de Céspedes" do município de Bayamo, Granma, de 5 de janeiro de 2017 a 31 de dezembro de 2018.  Resultados:  sexo masculino (OR: 1,00; IC: 0,449-2,087; p: 0,999) e alcoolismo (OR: 0,53; IC: 0,012-1,236; p: 0,000) não mostraram associação com o risco de desenvolver no entanto, uma DCV aumentou o risco mencionado em mais de cinco vezes (OR: 5,52; IC: 2,326-13,106; p: 0,000). A comorbidade com maior força de associação foi demonstrada por HTN (OR: 36,42; IC: 213,118-51,161; p: 0,000) enquanto proteína C reativa (OR: 6,01; IC: 2.640-13.681; p: 0.000) foi o biomarcador com a maior associação com o risco de desenvolver uma DCV. Da mesma forma, a análise multivariada mostrou que os fatores com maior influência independente para desenvolver uma DCV foram a proteína C reativa, aumentando o risco para 49,35 (IC: 3.968-61.906; p: 0.000), seguido e mordem de importância pelo TH (OR: 25,4; IC: 14,481-44,118; p: 0,000) ambos muito significativamente.  Conclusões: foiobtido um modelo para estimar o risco de desenvolver doença cardiovascular útil como instrumento de vigilância clínica e epidemiológica, identificando indivíduos com maior probabilidade de adoecer.]]></p></abstract>
