En las últimas décadas, se ha enseñado en diferentes instituciones cubanas para satisfacer necesidades académicas de los estudiantes y profesionales. Este tipo de aprendizaje se conoce como inglés con fines específicos y se implementa con los estudiantes de medicina y doctores. Este sistema de enseñanza ha alcanzado una posición incuestionable en el contexto de la Medicina, ya que gran parte de la información médica actualizada que se encuentra en: libros, artículos, documentos y periódicos, está en idioma inglés. El objetivo de esta investigación es demostrar la importancia que tiene para los estudiantes de Medicina y doctores el aprendizaje del inglés con fines médicos, para poder desarrollarse en los distintos contextos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Nowadays, English is considered the global language for science communication. It has been taught in different Cuban institutions over the last decades to meet professionals and students' academic needs. This sort of learning is known as English for Specific Purposes and is implemented with medical students and doctors. This teaching approach has reached an unquestionable status in medical settings, since much of the updated medical information found in books, articles, documents and newspapers is in English language. The aim of this research is to demonstrate the importance for medical students and doctors to learn English for medical purposes, in order to be able to develop in different settings.]]></p></abstract>
