La introducción de la tomografía por coherencia óptica macular tiene amplia difusión para identificar las patologías retinianas, por lo cual nos propusimos identificar la aplicación de la tomografía por coherencia óptica macular, estadificación de la retinopatía diabética, para lo que realizamos una amplia revisión bibliográfica en ScienceDirect, Biblioteca Virtual en Salud y PubMed Health hasta febrero 2018. Los resultados mostraron que esta técnica es significativa para identificar las lesiones producidas por la retinopatía diabética y permite su clasificación en fases iniciales de la enfermedad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is the most frequent blindness cause among active population of developed countries. The introduction of macular optical coherence tomography has a wide diffusion to identify retinal pathologies. Therefore, we proposed to identify the application of macular optical coherence tomography in the staging of diabetic retinopathy, using a comprehensive literature review in Science Direct, Virtual Health Library, PubMed Health until February 2018. Results showed this technique importance identifying injuries by diabetic retinopathy and its classification in the initials phases of the disease.]]></p></abstract>
