<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1680-03382018000300067&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1680-03382018000300067&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1680-03382018000300067&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Cuba se ve anualmente sometida a los efectos de huracanes y por los daños que ocasionan es necesario el estudio de estos eventos meteorológicos, empleándose modelos matemáticos especializados en la modelación de surgencia y oleaje, tales como los modelos ADCIRC (modelo avanzado de circulación para océanos, costas y estuarios) y SWAN (modelo de simulación de olas en aguas poco profundas) acoplados. Se establecen diferentes escenarios donde se obtienen valores de marea, surgencia, altura de ola significativa, período pico y sobreelevación por rotura del oleaje asociados con los huracanes Hanna e Ike del 2008 que por su intensidad fueron de gran importancia. Para la validación de los resultados se usan las predicciones del programa WXtide y los datos aportados por las boyas de la NOAA, realizándose un análisis estadístico.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Cuba is annually subjected to the effects of hurricanes and due to the damages they cause it is necessary the study of these meteorological events. The mathematical models specialized in the surge and wave simulation used, such as model ADCIRC (advanced model of circulation for oceans, costs and estuaries) and SWAN (Simulating WAves Nearshore) are coupled. Different scenarios are set where tide values are obtained, surge, height of significant wave, peak period and wave set up for breaking wave associated to hurricanes Hanna and Ike in 2008 that were of great importance for their intensity. For the validation of the results, the predictions of the program WXtide and the data contributed by the buoys of NOAA are used, where a statistical analysis is performed.]]></p></abstract>
