En el período 2015-2018 hubo una disminución del 50 % en la producción ostrícola, por lo que se hizo necesario realizar un estudio hidrológico del sistema lacustre mencionado (cuatro campañas de muestreo en época de lluvia y seca) y poder dar un diagnóstico de la situación actual de sus aguas, apoyado con una red de seis estaciones ubicadas en la laguna, el estero y el mar adyacente. Entre las variables evaluadas se encuentran la temperatura, salinidad, pH, transparencia, turbidez y color. Se concluyó que los valores de calidad hidrológica estuvieron acordes con los requerimientos ambientales de las especies de ostión presentes en la laguna, con mayor afectación en el estero.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This research was carried out in El Cheve-Estero Sábalo lagoon water system in Pinar del Rio province, Cuba. In 2015-2018 period there was a 50% decrease in oyster production, so it was necessary to carry out a hydrological study of mentioned lake system (four sampling campaigns in the rainy and dry season) and to be able to diagnose the situation current of its waters, supported by a network of six stations located in the lagoon, the estuary and the adjacent sea. Among the variables evaluated are temperature, salinity, pH, transparency, turbidity and color. It was concluded that the hydrological quality values were in accordance with the environmental requirements of oyster species present in the lagoon, with greater impact on the estuary.]]></p></abstract>
