Sin absolutizar posiciones teóricas se realiza una sistematización sobre las ventajas y desventajas del aprendizaje de este idioma y se ofrecen criterios sobre su pertinencia en jóvenes y adultos, por lo que el objetivo del artículo es ofrecer dimensiones e indicadores a considerar para que tanto en el profesor como en los jóvenes y adultos se produzca un proceso de enseñanza - aprendizaje significativo en la lengua inglesa bajo condiciones óptimas. Se emplearon los métodos analítico-sintético, inductivo-deductivo, y la observación.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Controversial criteria on the ideal age for learning English have been addressed by foreign and national linguists. Without absolutizing theoretical positions, a systematization is made on the advantages and disadvantages of learning this language and criteria are offered on its relevance in young people and adults, so the objective of the article is to offer dimensions and indicators to be considered so that both the teacher and the young people and adults can produce a meaningful teaching-learning process in the English language under optimal conditions. The analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, and observational methods were used.]]></p></abstract>
