Mediante los métodos histórico lógico y análisis síntesis se identificaron las variables a analizar y posteriormente, utilizando la estadística descriptiva e inferencial, se relacionaron las variables independientes: género, provincia de procedencia, fuente de ingreso, opción en solicitó la carrera, nota de acceso en Matemática y rendimiento académico en Matemática y Programación con la variable dependiente deserción estudiantil. Se utilizó una muestra formada por 485 estudiantes. Se identificaron como variables predictivas: la provincia de procedencia, la fuente de ingreso, la nota de acceso en Matemática y el rendimiento académico. El estudio puede ser replicado en otros contextos e incluir nuevas variables y sus resultados impactan en la ciencia, la tecnología y la sociedad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The objective of the work is, from a scientific, technological and societal approach, to identify the predictive factors of student dropout in the Computer Science Engineering major using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences. Through the logical-historical and analysis-synthesis methods, the variables to be analyzed were identified and later, using descriptive and inferential statistics, the independent variables were related: gender, province of origin, teaching of provenance, option in applying for the degree, access mark in Mathematics and academic performance in Mathematics and Programming with the dependent variable &#8220;student dropout&#8221;. A sample of 485 students was analyzed. The following were identified as predictive variables: the province of origin, the source of income, the entrance mark in Mathematics and academic performance. The study can be generalized into other contexts and include new variables, and its results impact on science, technology and society.]]></p></abstract>

Através dos métodos histórico lógico e análise-síntese, identificou-se as variáveis &#8203;&#8203;a serem analisadas e posteriormente, por meio de estatística descritiva e inferencial, foram relacionadas as variáveis &#8203;&#8203;independentes: sexo, província de origem, ensino de proveniência, opção de candidatura ao curso, nota de acesso em Matemática e desempenho acadêmico em Matemática e Programação com a variável dependente deserção estudantil. Utilizou-se uma amostra de 485 alunos. Foram identificadas como variáveis &#8203;&#8203;preditivas: a província de origem, a ensino de proveniencia à universidade, a nota de acesso em Matemática e o rendimento escolar.
