Cada estado tiene asignada una región para el control de los vuelos y para la vigilancia meteorológica. Ante la presencia o el pronóstico de posible ocurrencia de conglomerados de nubes de grades desarrollos verticales que impidan el normal desplazamiento de las aeronaves, estas oficinas deberán emitir las alertas correspondientes. La alerta temprana por la posible ocurrencia de esta condición contribuye a la seguridad y eficiencia de los vuelos. Tomando en cuenta que, para condiciones atmosféricas tropicales, fue desarrollado un índice que indica su grado de inestabilidad atmosférica, se propone su aplicación para dichas condiciones tropicales, utilizando como base de cálculo, el sistema de predicción numérico a corto plazo (SisPi) desarrollado por el Instituto de Meteorología de Cuba, obteniéndose resultados satisfactorios.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The aviation requires actualized and available meteorological information in a very short period of time, in order to guarantee the flight safety. Each state has assigned a region for the control of the flights and for the surveillance of the weather conditions. When it is present or is forecasted the possibility of the occurrence of great vertical developed clouds clusters that could affect the normal flight of the aircrafts, those meteorological watch offices shall transmits the appropriated alerts. Taking into consideration that, for tropical atmospheric conditions, it was developed an index that shows the degree of atmospheric instability, it is proposed the application of this forecast method for such tropical conditions and supporteing the calculations by the numerical prediction system of short period of time (SisPi) developed by the Cuban Meteorological Institute, obtaining satisfactory results.]]></p></abstract>
