La ineficiencia espectral que impone el actual despliegue de una red MFN representa una limitación a la evolución de las tecnologías de las comunicaciones en Cuba; pero es necesario conocer las capacidades reales de SFN en DTMB antes de planificar una posible transición. La principal restricción para el diseño en SFN es la incapacidad de los receptores comerciales de estimar y ecualizar correctamente los efectos de las señales cuyos retardos son superiores a la duración de la cabecera de la trama. Sin embargo, las señales con retardos inferiores a esta pueden representar ya sea interferencia destructiva o constructiva, y es a ellas a las cuales está orientada está investigación. En este artículo, son presentadas dos formas de determinar la influencia de esta interferencia mutua en la calidad de las señales de DTMB. En una primera parte, los valores de ganancia SFN son analizados empleando al parámetro MER como medida. Los parámetros Retardo, Atenuación y Nivel de Intensidad de la Señal son variados para emular condiciones de comunicación reales con dos transmisores. En una segunda parte, un grupo de receptores comerciales es evaluado usando la condición de TOV para determinar la necesaria atenuación entre dos señales SFN para mantener la correcta visualización.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This paper presents a study of the self-interference on SFN for DTMB based on the results of laboratory tests with professional and commercial receivers. The spectral inefficiency of the actual MFN represents a constraint for the evolution of the telecommunication technologies on Cuba, but It´s is necessary to know the real capabilities of SFN on DTMB before a possible transition. The principal restriction for the design of SFN is the incapability of the receivers to estimate and equalize correctly the signals with delays bigger than frame header length. However, signals within this interval could represent either constructive or destructive interference. For that reason, in this paper, two ways to determinate the influence of the auto-interference on the DTMB signal quality are presented. First, the SFN gain values are analyzed using the MER as the measuring parameter. The signal strength and the delay and attenuation between signals are varied to emulate real conditions of a two-transmitter SFN. Second, a group of commercial receivers is evaluated using the TOV condition to determine the necessary attenuation between two SFN signals for keeping the correct visualization.]]></p></abstract>
