El objetivo de este trabajo se orienta a presentar una propuesta metodológica para el empleo de canciones en inglés que contribuya al desarrollo de las estrategias de aprendizaje y de la comprensión auditiva. En el trabajo se exponen los mecanismos fisiológicos, psicológicos, afectivos y de memoria que se activan con el uso de canciones que a su vez contribuyen a motivar a los estudiantes hacia la asignatura. Tomando en consideración que en la situación actual se necesita de una implicación y responsabilidad mayor por parte de los estudiantes en su proceso de aprendizaje, la implementación de estrategias de aprendizaje de idiomas bien puede contribuir al logro de este fin.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This work deals with the role of songs in English in order to develop language learning strategies and listening comprehension in university students. The purpose of this paper is to present a methodological proposal to use songs in English in order to develop language learning strategies and listening comprehension. This paper explains physiological, psychological, affective and memory mechanisms which are activated within the use of songs that also contribute to motivate students towards the subject. Taking into account that nowadays students' implication and responsibility on their learning process is quite relevant, the language learning strategies use could contribute to work out with this aim.]]></p></abstract>
