Este estudo descritivo com abordagem mista visa analisar esta situação na Educação Básica em Machala, Equador, apoiada em métodos de pesquisa científica exegética, conteúdo, análise sintética e estatística, bem como a técnica de survey. Entre os principais resultados estão: habilidade insuficiente dos alunos para o estudo autónomo, habilidades tecnológicas limitadas para a gestão da informação, controle e ajuda inadequados que recebem dos pais, indisponibilidade de recursos tecnológicos e conectividade para Internet, bem como o estilo de aprendizagem, hábitos de estudo, responsabilidade no cumprimento das tarefas do portefólio do aluno e motivação para o estudo autónomo. Por sua vez, os professores consideram que entre as suas limitações estão as competências tecnológicas, as competências para o desenvolvimento de suportes didácticos digitais, o domínio das metodologias de utilização dos recursos tecnológicos, a adaptação do programa e das actividades curriculares, o tempo disponível para fornecer ajuda aos alunos e habilidades de gerenciamento de informações. Desse modo, conclui-se que existem limitações para o efectivo cumprimento da estratégia emergente adoptada para dar continuidade à trajectória no âmbito do COVID-19.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT COVID-19 is a pandemic that has physical distancing as an antidote, which has changed the dynamics in social relationships; in particular it has influenced the behavior of the teaching-learning process. This descriptive study with a mixed approach aims to analyze this situation in Basic Education in Machala, Ecuador, supported by exegetical scientific research methods, content analysis, synthesis and statistics, as well as the survey technique. Among the main results are: insufficient student skills for autonomous study, limited technological skills for information management, inadequate control and help received by parents, the unavailability of technological resources and connectivity to Internet, as well as the learning style, the study habits, the responsibility in the fulfillment of the tasks of the student portfolio and the motivation for the autonomous study. For their part, teachers consider that among their limitations are technological skills, skills for the preparation of digital teaching aids, mastery of methodologies for the use of technological resources, adaptation of the program and curricular activities, the time available for provide student support and information management skills. Thus, it is concluded that there are limitations to the effective fulfillment of the emerging strategy adopted to continue the course in the context of COVID-19.]]></p></abstract>
