Más aún, con la emergencia sanitaria de la COVID-19, el estudio sobre esta competencia despierta interés debido a su aporte a la transformación digital y la innovación educativa. Ante ello, el objetivo del estudio fue determinar el estado actual de los documentos que relacionan la competencia digital y la COVID-19. Para ello, se realizó un análisis bibliométricos de 308 investigaciones publicadas en Scopus. Se encuentra que el número de documentos publicados en 2021 se multiplica en 3,3 veces comparado con 2020. Asimismo, la revista Sustainability presenta el mayor número de publicaciones sobre este campo de estudio; España es el país con mayor producción científica y específicamente la Universidad de Sevilla es la institución con mayor número de publicaciones. Respecto a las coautorías de país, se encuentra que España tiene la mayor influencia en este campo de estudio. Se concluye que existe una creciente investigación de carácter accesible y colaborativo, sobre todo en países hispanohablantes, así como la existencia de una recurrencia investigativa sobre la competencia digital del docente y el estudiante para la implementación efectiva del e-learning.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Digital competence is one of the key competencies for lifelong learning. Moreover, with the health emergency of COVID-19, the study on this competence arouses interest due to its contribution to digital transformation and educational innovation. Given this, the objective of the study was to determine the status of the documents that relate digital competence and COVID-19. For this purpose, a bibliometric analysis of 308 research papers published in Scopus was conducted. It is found that the number of papers published in 2021 is multiplied by 3.3 times compared to 2020. Likewise, the journal Sustainability presents the highest number of publications on this field of study; Spain is the country with the highest scientific production and specifically the University of Seville is the institution with the highest number of publications. With respect to country co-authorships, it is found that Spain has the greatest influence in this field of study. It is concluded that there is growing research of an accessible and collaborative nature, especially in Spanish-speaking countries, as well as the existence of a recurrence of research on the digital competence of teachers and students for the effective implementation of e-learning.]]></p></abstract>
