However, in irrigated rice cultivation, there are still few studies carried out and there is significant variability in the information on its effect on the soil and the agricultural yield of the crop, depending on the type of soil. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of CA on some physical and chemical properties of a Gleysol Ferruginous nodular soil dedicated to the cultivation of irrigated rice. The research was conducted in an area of &#8203;&#8203;2.63 ha in which the three basic principles of the CA were implemented. The results show that, after four cycles of planting under the CA, an increase in organic matter from 2,41 to 3,66 % occurs with respect to the base line. In addition, the total porosity was increased in 9,51 %, the apparent density decreased to 4,0 g.cm-3 and the penetration resistance was reduced from 4,29 to 3,01 MPa, showing the favorable effect of CA on the soil.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN La evidencia empírica y científica de diferentes partes del mundo ha demostrado que los conceptos y principios de la Agricultura de Conservación (AC) son de validez universal. Sin embargo, en el cultivo del arroz irrigado, aún son pocos los estudios realizados y existe una variabilidad significativa en la información sobre su efecto en el suelo y el rendimiento agrícola del cultivo, en función del tipo de suelo. El objetivo del presente trabajo es evaluar el efecto de la AC en algunas propiedades físicas y químicas de un suelo Gleysol Nodular Ferruginoso dedicado al cultivo del arroz irrigado. La investigación se realizó en un área de 2,63 ha en la que se implementaron los tres principios básicos de la AC. Los resultados demuestran que luego de cuatro ciclos de siembra la AC produce como tendencia un incremento de la materia orgánica de 2,41 a 3,66 % respecto a la línea base, la porosidad total se incrementó en 9,51 %, la densidad aparente disminuyo en 4 g.cm-3 y la resistencia a la penetración se reduce de 4,29 a 3,01 MPa, evidenciando el efecto favorable de la AC sobre el suelo.]]></p></abstract>
