<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2071-00542020000400002&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2071-00542020000400002&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2071-00542020000400002&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT As part of a research project aimed at determining the effect of extreme winds on agricultural economic objectives, through the application of simulation methods based on Computational Fluid Dynamics and finite elements analysis, some experimental runs were carried out to validate that simulation method and the criteria used during the formation of the models and the characteristics of the finite element meshing to be applied. For the experimental measurements, a wind tunnel built in the Agricultural Mechanization Center of the Agrarian University of Havana was used, which was modeled in 3D with the SolidWork 2018 computational tool and the simulation was carried out through the &#8220;Flow Simulation&#8221; module. For the experimental application of the simulation models used, the results of experimental measurements of the pressures within the wind tunnel were compared with the pressures determined by simulation. A variable pressure field in the space was achieved by interposing an obstacle to air circulation, aimed at achieving different pressure levels in different sections of the tunnel. As a result of the comparison, a simulation prediction error was obtained that ranged between 0.53 and 2.07%, which was extremely satisfactory.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Como parte de la ejecución de un proyecto de investigación dirigido a la determinación del efecto de vientos extremos sobre objetivos económicos agropecuarios, mediante la aplicación de mètodos de simulación basados en la Dinámica de Fluidos Computacional, que a su vez se sustenta en el análisis por elementos finitos, se efectuaron algunas corridas experimentales dirigidas a validar dicho método de simulación, así como los criterios empleados durante la conformación de los modelos y de las características del mallado de elementos finitos a aplicar. Para las mediciones experimentales se utilizó un túnel de viento construido en el Centro de Mecanización Agropecuaria de la Universidad Agraria de La Habana, el cual fue modelado en 3D con la herramienta computacional SolidWork 2018, efectuando la simulación mediante el módulo &#8220;Flow Simulation&#8221;. Para la aplicación experimental de los modelos de simulación empleados se compararon los resultados de mediciones experimentales de las presiones dentro del túnel de viento con las presiones determinadas mediante la simulación. Un campo de presiones variable en el espacio se logró interponiendo un obstáculo a la circulación del aire, dirigido a lograr diferentes niveles de presión en distintas secciones del túnel. Como resultado de la comparación se obtuvo un error de predicción de la simulación que osciló entre 0,53% y 2,07%, lo cual resultó sumamente satisfactorio.]]></p></abstract>
