<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2079-34802018000200203&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2079-34802018000200203&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2079-34802018000200203&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In order to evaluate the morphological and productive performance of new varieties of Cenchrus purpureus (CT-601, CT-603, CT-605, CT-608, CT-609 and CUBA CT-115 as control), tolerant to drought in different regrowth ages (60, 90, 120, 150 days), in the dry season, a study was developed with a random block design in factorial arrangement, in which the effect of interaction of factors (6x4) on productive and agronomic variables was controlled. Yield of green matter and dry matter, leaf morphology, plant height and number of nodes were affected by the second degree interaction, while thickness and length of the stem were modified by the effects of variety and age, respectively. The highest value of green matter and dry matter yield was obtained in the CT-601 variety, at the age of 150 days (10.6 t GM ha-1 and 2.76 t DM ha-1, respectively) for p&#8804;0.001. For green mater, the values were similar for CT-605 and CT-609, and for DM, only with CT-609, and, in both cases, they were higher than CT-115. The lowest (p&#8804;0,001) mean of Green matter and dry matter was provided by CT-605, during the ages of 60, 90 and 120 days for green matter (1,08; 1,68 and 1,83 t GM ha-1), and 60, 90, 120 and 150 days for DM (0,27; 0,29; 0,41 and 1.97 t DM ha-1). At 120 days, a slight recovery was observed in the accumulation of DM by the CT-115, CT-609, CT-603 and CT-601 varieties, with redundant values of 1.20-1.58 t DM ha-1. It is concluded that, under the conditions of Valle del Cauto, the combined effect of regrowth age with variety conditions the agro-productive performance of the new varieties of Cenchrus purpureus tolerant to drought.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Para evaluar el comportamiento morfológico y productivo de nuevas variedades de Cenchrus purpureus (CT-601, CT-603, CT-605, CT-608, CT-609 y CUBA CT-115 como control) tolerantes a la sequía en diferentes edades de rebrote (60, 90, 120, 150 d) en la época poco lluviosa, se desarrolló un estudio en un diseño de bloques al azar en arreglo factorial. Se controló el efecto de la interacción de los factores (6 x 4) en variables agronómicas y productivas. El rendimiento de materia verde y materia seca, la morfología de la hoja, la altura de la planta y el número de nudos se afectaron por la interacción de segundo grado, mientras que el grosor y longitud del tallo se modificaron por los efectos de la variedad y edad, respectivamente. El valor superior de rendimiento de materia verde y materia seca se obtuvo en la variedad CT-601, en la edad de 150 d (10, 6 t de materia verde ha-1 y 2.76 t de materia seca ha-1, respectivamente) para P &#8804; 0,001. Para el rendimiento de materia verde, los valores fueron similares para el CT-605 y CT-609, y para la materia seca, solo con el CT-609. En ambos casos, se superó al CT-115. El menor (P &#8804; 0.001) promedio de materia verde y materia seca lo aportó la variedad CT-605 durante las edades de 60, 90 y 120 d para materia verde (1.08; 1.68 y 1.83 t MV ha-1), y 60, 90, 120 y 150 d para MS (0.27; 0.29; 0.41 y 1.97 t MS ha-1). A los 120 d, hubo una ligera recuperación de la acumulación de MS por parte de las variedades CT-115, CT-609, CT-603 y CT-601, con valores redundantes de 1.20-1.58 t MS ha-1. Se concluye que, en las condiciones del Valle del Cauto, el efecto combinado de la edad de rebrote con la variedad condiciona el comportamiento agroproductivo de las nuevas variedades de Cenchrus purpureus, tolerantes a la sequía.]]></p></abstract>
