The experiment was performed in September, on a brown soil with carbonate, without irrigation or fertilization. There were differences (P &lt;0.05) between the plant materials evaluated for the nutritional and nutraceutical indicators studied. The highest values of crude protein, true protein and neutral detergent fiber were obtained for S. niveum meal (277.97, 255. 42, 625.51 g/kg DM). The content of linoleic, linolenic, stearic and palmitic acids in this meal suggests higher quality. The concentration of total carotenoids, total polyphenols, total tannins and total saponins was higher for S. aterrimum (136.08 ug/g, 25.20, 15.93 g/ kg DM, 10.09 mg/100g), while the condensed tannins associated with fiber were lower (5.68 g/kg DM). The forage meal of S. niveum and S. aterrimum has high nutritional and nutraceutical value so it could favor the control of animal health, as well as improve their productivity and welfare. It is proposed to continue in vivo researchers that include meals in different formulations of diets.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Se utilizó un diseño completamente aleatorizado, con cinco repeticiones para evaluar el valor nutracéutico de la harina de forraje de Stizolobium niveum y Stizolobium aterrimum para su uso en la alimentación animal. El experimento se realizó en el mes septiembre, en un suelo pardo con carbonato, sin riego ni fertilización. Hubo diferencias (P&lt;0.05) entre los materiales vegetales evaluados para los indicadores nutritivos y nutracéuticos estudiados. Los valores mayores de proteína bruta, proteína verdadera y fibra detergente neutro se obtuvieron para la harina de S. niveum (277.97; 255. 42; 625.51 g/kg MS). El contenido de los ácidos linoleico, linolénico, esteárico y palmítico en esta harina sugiere mayor calidad de la misma. La concentración de carotenoides totales, polifenoles totales, taninos totales y saponinas totales fue superior para el S. aterrimum (136.08 ug/g, 25.20, 15.93 g/kg MS, 10.09 mg/100g), mientras que los taninos condensados asociados a la fibra fueron inferiores (5.68 g/kg MS). La harina de forraje de S. niveum y S. aterrimum tiene alto valor nutricional y nutracéutico por lo que pudiera favorecer el control de la salud en los animales, así como mejorar su productividad y bienestar. Se propone continuar investigaciones in vivo que incluyan las harinas en diferentes formulaciones de las dietas.]]></p></abstract>
