Broilers were distributed according to a completely randomized design with eight repetitions per treatment: control of corn/soybean and three experimental diets including 1, 2 and 3% of the dry fermented product. Morphological indicators (relative weights, g/gLW x 100) of digestive organs, accessory organs of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) were determined, as well as other immunological (spleen, thymus and bursa of Fabricius) and histological indicators. Health indicators (hematocrit) and serum concentrations of total proteins, uric acid, cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose were also analyzed. The dry fermented product did not alter the relative weights of organs of full and empty gastrointestinal tract, nor that of accessory organs and lymphoids. There was increase of relative weight of spleen (P=0.0693), which corresponded with an increase in hematocrit, in broilers that received up to 3% of the dry fermented product. Protein metabolism indicators did not vary with the inclusion of the dry fermented product, which influenced on energy metabolism, with an increase of 6.85 vs. 9.52 and 10.21 of serum glucose (P&lt;0.0091 mmol/L) for 2 and 3% of dry fermented product, with a decrease of 0.84 vs. 0.52 and 0.54 (P&lt;0.0032 mmol/L) of triglycerides regarding the control. An elongation of villi of the small intestine mucus and a hyperplasia of cecal tonsils was observed, which could indicate better nutrient absorption and possible immunostimulatory effect. Results suggest that the inclusion of up to 3% of the dry fermented product in the diet of broilers based on corn/soybean, favors health and histological indicators of these animals.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Se utilizaron 32 pollos híbridos machos EB24 de 42 días de edad para determinar indicadores morfológicos, inmunológicos, de salud e histológicos al incluir en la dieta un producto fermentado seco (PFS) que se elaboró a partir del contenido de rumen. Las aves se distribuyeron según diseño completamente aleatorizado con 8 repeticiones por tratamiento: control de maíz/soya y tres dietas experimentales con inclusión de 1, 2 y 3% del PFS. Se determinaron los indicadores morfológicos (pesos relativos, g/gPVx100) de los órganos digestivos, accesorios del tracto gastrointestinal (TGI), inmunológicos (bazo, timo y bolsa de Fabricio) e histológicos. También se analizaron indicadores de salud (hematocrito) y las concentraciones séricas de proteínas totales, ácido úrico, colesterol, triglicéridos y glucosa. El PFS no alteró los pesos relativos de los órganos del TGI lleno y vacío, de los órganos accesorios, y linfoides. Se halló incremento del peso relativo del bazo (P=0.0693) en las aves que recibieron hasta el 3% del PFS, que se correspondió con incremento del hematocrito. Los indicadores del metabolismo proteico, no variaron con la inclusión del PFS, el que influyó en el metabolismo energético con incremento P&lt;0.0091 (mmol/L) 6.85 vs 9.52 y 10.21 de la glucosa sérica para el 2y 3% del PFS con una disminución P&lt;0.0032 (mmol/L) 0.84 vs 0.52 y 0.54 de los triglicéridos en comparación con el control. Se observó la elongación de las vellosidades de la mucosa del intestino delgado y una hiperplasia de los tonsiles cecales, lo que pudiera indicar la mejor absorción de nutrientes y posible efecto inmunoestimulante. Se sugiere que la inclusión de hasta 3% de PFS en la dieta de pollos de ceba basada en maíz/soya, resulta favorable para indicadores de salud e histológicos de estos animales]]></p></abstract>
