Samplings were carried out twice a year, once during rainy season and once in dry season, in the period between July 2014 and March 2017. The edaphic macrofauna was collected according to the standard methodology proposed by the Tropical Soil Biology and Fertility (TSBF) and by pitfall traps. An amount of 28,030 individuals was captured in the five agroecosystems, in the three years of research, of them 6,423 in monoliths and 21,607 in pitfall traps. The abundance and richness showed variable performance in both climatic periods in all the studied agroecosystems, with the two sampling methods. During dry season of the second year, a superior performance of macrofauna with respect to rainy period was observed. In Estación de Pastos agroecosystem, the greatest abundance and diversity of edaphic macrofauna was found, which confirms the beneficial effect of silvopastoral systems in this group of edaphic biota. It was concluded that, in the studied grassland agroecosystems, edaphic macrofauna had a heterogeneous performance in the evaluated seasons.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar el comportamiento de la riqueza y abundancia de la macrofauna edáfica en cinco agroecosistemas de pastizales en la provincia Granma. Los muestreos se realizaron dos veces al año, una vez en el periodo lluvioso y otra en el poco lluvioso, en la etapa comprendida desde julio de 2014 hasta marzo de 2017. La macrofauna edáfica se colectó según la metodología estándar propuesta por el programa Tropical Soil Biology and Fertility (TSBF) y mediante las trampas de caída. Se capturaron 28 030 individuos en los cinco agroecosistemas, en los tres años de la investigación, de ellos 6 423 en los monolitos y 21 607 en las trampas de caída. La abundancia y la riqueza mostraron comportamiento variable en ambos períodos climáticos en todos los agroecosistemas estudiados, con los dos métodos de muestreo. En el período poco lluvioso del segundo año se observó un comportamiento superior de la macrofauna con respecto al período lluvioso. En el agroecosistema Estación de Pastos se constató la mayor abundancia y diversidad de la macrofauna edáfica, lo que confirma el efecto beneficioso de los sistemas silvopastoriles en este grupo de la biota edáfica. Se concluye que, en los agroecosistemas de pastizales estudiados, la macrofauna edáfica tuvo un comportamiento heterogéneo en las épocas evaluadas.]]></p></abstract>
