Cuba CT-115, for its in vitro establishment an experiment was developed in Laboratorio de Biotecnología de la Facultad de Agronomía de la Universidad Agraria de La Habana. Two observations were made at four and eight days after sowing. The data were analyzed by Chi-square comparison proportions, for p &lt; 0.05 and ComparPro 1.0. statistical package was applied. The analysis of proportion comparison of the studied variables at four and eight days did not have significant differences between the treatments with sodium hypochlorite at 3 and 5 %. There was not contamination by fungi or bacteria in the two treatments studied at four days. Bacterial contamination occurred at eight days, but there were not differences between treatments. The explants disinfection of Cuba CT-115 can be performed with both concentrations of sodium hypochlorite, but it is recommended to disinfect apical cones of Cuba CT-115 with 3% sodium hypochlorite, which allows a saving of this substance during the procedure. It is suggested to study other concentrations of sodium hypochlorite and different immersion times.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Con el propósito de evaluar el efecto de diferentes concentraciones de hipoclorito de sodio (3 y 5 %) en la desinfección de explantes, cono apical de Cenchrus purpureus vc. Cuba CT-115, para su establecimiento in vitro, se desarrolló un experimento en el Laboratorio de Biotecnología de la Facultad de Agronomía de la Universidad Agraria de La Habana. Se realizaron dos observaciones, a los cuatro y ocho días después de la siembra. Los datos se analizaron mediante comparación de proporciones Chi-cuadrado, para p &lt; 0.05 y se aplicó el paquete estadístico ComparPro 1.0. El análisis de comparación de proporciones de las variables estudiadas a los cuatro y ocho días no dejó ver diferencias significativas entre los tratamientos con hipoclorito de sodio al 3 y 5 %. No se encontró contaminación por hongos o bacterias en los dos tratamientos estudiados a los cuatro días. La contaminación por bacterias ocurrió a los ocho días, pero no hubo diferencia entre tratamientos. La desinfección de explantes de Cuba CT-115 se puede realizar con ambas concentraciones de hipoclorito de sodio, pero se recomienda la desinfección de conos apicales de Cuba CT-115 con hipoclorito de sodio al 3 %, lo que permite el ahorro de esta sustancia durante el procedimiento. Se sugiere estudiar otras concentraciones de hipoclorito de sodio y diferentes tiempos de inmersión.]]></p></abstract>
