Se utilizaron 240 gallinas (60 animales/grupo), entre 10 y 18 semanas de edad, en un grupo control (balanceado comercial) y tres grupos experimentales (3, 6 y 9% de harina de C. chayamansa) para evaluar indicadores productivos. Se criaron en piso, con acceso a 50m2 de pasto Stenotathumsecundatum/grupo, 6 horas/día. Las dietas fueron isoenergéticas (10.83 MJ/kg) y de proteína cruda (16.27%). Los mayores consumos, peso vivo y conversión alimentaria se registraron en el control (5028.50, 1899 g y 2,65 respectivamente), seguido por los animales que consumieron el 3% de inclusión de C. chayamansa (4497.80 g, 1632.50 g y 2,75). Todas las dietas cubrieron los requerimientos nutricionales. C. chayamansa aumentó la disponibilidad de calcio en la dieta. La fibra cruda no sobrepasó el valor admisible, pero aumentó, desde 2.61% en el control, a 3.56% con 6% de inclusión. Se puede sustituir el 3% del maíz y la soya de la dieta para gallinas Rhode Island Red en desarrollo y prepostura, por C. chayamansa y obtener un comportamiento productivo, consumo, conversión y eficiencia en el uso de los nutrientes similar al balanceado comercial.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT In the article it was compared the productive performance of Rhode Island Red hens fed with commercial feed or replacement of a portion of the corn and soy for flour Cnidoscolus chayamansa leaves. 240 hens (60 animals/group), between 10 and 18 weeks old, were used in a control group (commercial feed) and three experimental groups (3; 6 and 9% flour C. chayamansa). The animals were reared on floor, with access to 50 m2 of grass Stenotathum secundatum/group, 6 hours/day. The diets had equal metabolizable energy content (10.83 MJ/kg) and crude protein (16.27%). Productive and nutritional indicators were calculated. The highest intakes, live weight and feed conversion were recorded in the control (5028.50, 1899 g and 2.65 respectively), followed by the animals that consumed the 3% inclusion of C. chayamansa (4497.80 g, 1632.50 g and 2.75). All diets covered the nutritional requirements. C. chayamansa increased the availability of calcium in the diet. Crude fiber did not exceed the permissible value, but increased from 2.61% in the control to 3.56% with 6% inclusion. It can replace 3% of the corn and soybean diet for Rhode Island Red hens in development and pre posture, for C. chayamansa and obtain productive behavior, consumption, conversion and efficiency of commercial balanced nutrients.]]></p></abstract>
