Participaron 35 estudiantes del séptimo y octavo semestre de la especialidad de Idiomas Extranjeros de la Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruiz Gallo de Lambayeque, Perú, año 2020-2021 Se diseñó un cuestionario tipo Likert, basado en la revisión teórica del concepto de pensamiento crítico, que permitió organizar la matriz de destrezas del pensamiento crítico, según cuatro dimensiones: analizar información, inferir implicancias, proponer alternativas de solución y argumentar una posición. Con este instrumento se logró que los estudiantes reportaran su nivel de desarrollo en cuanto a las habilidades de pensamiento crítico, una vez cursados y aprobados los cursos Taller de Investigación Educativa I. Los resultados evidenciaron que estas habilidades estuvieron presentes entre los niveles bajo y promedio. En el nivel bajo se identificaron las habilidades de las dimensiones: analizar la información y coherencia entre alternativas y problema; en el nivel promedio se señalaron las habilidades de las dimensiones: inferir implicancias y argumentar una posición. Una vez más queda clara la responsabilidad de las instituciones universitarias para el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to determine the level of development of critical thinking skills in undergraduate students. 45 students of the third semester of the Foreign Languages specialty of the Pedro Ruiz Gallo National University of Lambayeque, Peru, participated in the year 2020-2021 A Likert-type questionnaire was designed, based on the theoretical review of the concept of critical thinking, which allowed organizing the matrix of critical thinking skills, according to four dimensions: analyze information, infer implications, propose alternative solutions and argue a position. With this instrument it was possible for the students to report their level of development in terms of critical thinking skills, once the Educational Research Workshop I courses had been taken and passed. The results showed that these skills were present between low and average levels. At the low level, the skills of the dimensions were identified: analyze the information and coherence between alternatives and the problem; At the average level, the skills of the dimensions were indicated: inferring implications and arguing a position. Once again, the responsibility of university institutions for the development of critical thinking is clear.]]></p></abstract>
