<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2218-36202022000100179&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2218-36202022000100179&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2218-36202022000100179&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN La utilización de materiales alternativos en la elaboración de hormigones es motivo de estudio de varios organismos y universidades a nivel mundial con el objetivo de disminuir el empleo de las materias primas no renovables que se usan en estas producciones y, a la vez, estimular el empleo de materiales y productos reciclados como criterio de sostenibilidad. En esta investigación se realiza un análisis de los efectos de la utilización de vidrio reciclado en el diseño de concreto. Para ello se analiza una muestra de 50 probetas de hormigón preparado con diferentes porcentajes de vidrio reciclado agregado, el cual ha sido activado mecánicamente por proceso de molienda a un tamaño de partícula cercano al tamaño de la partícula de cemento. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el vidrio reciclado particulado ha sido capaz de sustituir satisfactoriamente al agregado en porcentajes de 25 y 50 % en mezclas de concreto. Por lo que se puede afirmar que el vidrio reciclado puede sustituir a los agregados áridos, obteniendo un nuevo material a partir de residuos, lo que aliviana la gestión de residuos sólidos en la localidad, y disminuye el costo del concreto.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The use of alternative materials in the production of concrete is being studied by several organizations and universities worldwide with the aim of reducing the use of non-renewable raw materials used in these productions and, at the same time, to stimulate the use of recycled materials and products as a criterion of sustainability. In this research, an analysis of the effects of the use of recycled glass in concrete design is carried out. For this purpose, a sample of 50 specimens of concrete prepared with different percentages of recycled glass aggregate, which has been mechanically activated by grinding process to a particle size close to the size of the cement particle, is analyzed. The results obtained show that particulate recycled glass has been able to satisfactorily substitute aggregate in percentages of 25 and 50 % in concrete mixtures. Therefore, it can be affirmed that recycled glass can substitute aggregates, obtaining a new material from waste, which alleviates the management of solid waste in the locality, and decreases the cost of concrete.]]></p></abstract>
