Objetivos: Analizar las alteraciones de la microbiota intestinal relacionadas con disbiosis y consecuencias en los mecanismos metabólicos que participan en la patogénesis de las diabetes tipo 1 y 2 y posibilidad de modulación de la microbiota mediante bioterapia con probióticos de próxima generación. Métodos: Se revisaron publicaciones en español e inglés en PubMed, Google Scholar, SciELO desde enero 2010 a agosto 2020, se usaron los términos microbiota intestinal, disbiosis, diabetes tipo 1, diabetes tipo 2, obesidad y modulación microbiota intestinal. Resultados: Se actualizaron los criterios relacionados con la población bacteriana de la microbiota intestinal, disbiosis, mecanismos y repercusión en la diabetes tipo1 y 2 en estudios experimentales en ratones y humanos e influencia en la patogénesis de ambas afecciones metabólicas y acerca de la modulación de la microbiota con probióticos de próxima generación para su regulación y prevención. Conclusiones: Se actualizan los argumentos relacionados con las alteraciones en la composición de la microbiota intestinal, disbiosis y efectos como factores que intervienen en el desarrollo de la patogenia de las diabetes tipo 1 y 2 y modulación bioterapéutica como futuro promisorio con probióticos de próxima generación en la regulación y prevención de los eventos metabólicos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease of high prevalence worldwide that presents with metabolic syndrome whose main types are 1 and 2, in which an association with the intestinal microbiota has been described as a presumed factor in its pathogenesis. Objectives: To analyze the alterations of the intestinal microbiota related to dysbiosis and consequences in the metabolic mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of type 1 and 2 diabetes and the possibility of modulation of the microbiota by means of biotherapy with next generation probiotics. Methods: We reviewed publications in Spanish and English in PubMed, Google Scholar, SciELO from January 2010 to August 2020, using the terms gut microbiota, dysbiosis, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, obesity and gut microbiota modulation. Results: criteria related to the bacterial population of the gut microbiota, dysbiosis, mechanisms and impact on type1 and 2 diabetes in experimental studies in mice and humans and influence on the pathogenesis of both metabolic conditions and about modulation of the microbiota with next generation probiotics for its regulation and prevention were updated. Conclusions: Arguments related to alterations in gut microbiota composition, dysbiosis and effects as factors involved in the development of the pathogenesis of type 1 and 2 diabetes and biotherapeutic modulation as a promising future with next generation probiotics in the regulation and prevention of metabolic events are updated.]]></p></abstract>
